  1. At first I thought this was about Chris Sale, and was confused as to how the Rays got the power to suspend players on other teams.
  2. Tillman's last appearance was glorious. Allowed 6 runs on 1 hit. 5 walks of course.
  3. So does this mean Dozier will be signed for 5/75 this offseason?
  4. I can't wait to draft some toolsy shortstop like Tim Beckham that flames out in AA while the teams drafting around us get a consistent major-league starter.
  5. That's certainly the tone that comes across from the post. Why would Arte base his decisions on what a few people on a message board have to say? Fans are fans, there will always be a subset that complains. I seriously doubt someone gets to the top of the business world by being so insecure as to listen to some idiots.
  6. Yeah, it's the fans' fault. Arte is intentionally sabotaging the team to get back at the fans for whining. Makes sense.
  7. Can't wait until Romine is starting in RF.
  8. Yeah because everyone on this board totally saw this coming. And by everyone I mean no one, because he was projected as a #4 starter at best when he was traded and no one batted any eye about losing Corbin when the trade happened. Can't wait for the threads about how we should have kept Chatwood after he has a good start.
  9. Hey, that way when Blanton puts us in a 9-0 hole JW can come in and keep it to a 9-run deficit. That's good, right?
  10. I don't get it, do we not scout opposing pitchers? Three starts against Norris this year already and they have not improved one single bit.
  11. Fun facts: Blanton has allowed 100 hits this year, the most in baseball. The next worst is Vance Worley, with 82. Blanton has allowed 153 total bases, the most in baseball. The next worst is CC Sabathia, with 130. Blanton has also allowed the most extra-base hits in baseball, with 34. So yes. it is safe to say that Blanton does consistently get hit hard.
  12. To be fair, Darvish would be walking 6 guys per 9 innings and have an ERA over 4 if he pitched for the Angels.
  13. This would only apply if we were facing him.
  14. It's not like we have any better options or any other guys in the pen that profile as closers. Coello is having a nice run, but it's over a very small sample size. I say stick with Frieri and replace him with the current hot hand in the bullpen if he struggles like he did today.
  15. So that means every reliever gets a chance? -Mark Lowe
  16. The point to take away from this is that we need more Asians.
  17. Neither, because they'd both be struggling in the minors if they were still with the Angels.
  18. Todd Helton hit .372 in 2000. I remember him being around .390 late in the season and then going into a slump at the very end. Edit: he entered September with a .395 average.
  19. I'm sure we'll sign him to a 3/30 deal after the current one ends.
  20. Cabrera single-handedly cost me runs, HRs, RBIs, and average in my fantasy league.
  21. It all makes sense now. Arte signed Hamilton, Pujols, and particularly Blanton to get back at the fans for their whining. Some time around the ASB I expect a poster named "Arte4Life" to show up here and say "See? This is what happens when you ask for big-name signings! This is what you get!"
  22. Not surprisingly, the Angels are second only to Houston in walks allowed by the bullpen.
  23. There is absolutely no reason for him to opt out. His value as a manager will be at its lowest after this season and there is no way he commands the kind of money he has left remaining on his current contract.
