Incredible that Anthony Rendon didnt ask for a body double as well.

I was really surprised by this. I expected a much greater disparity. I went back to 2016 since that was the beginning of his injury woes.
Angels record with Trout 320-358 (.472)
    Angels record w/o Trout 152-178 (.461)

I see it as a good thing. Now the players will be forced to listen to Tim Salmon's stories, so we don't have to.

    Good riddance!
Now dump Barria and my 2023 most hated players will all be gone. Renfroe and Velazquez topped the list.

Another tool out of the managers tool box for the rest of the year, but may hopefully contribute to getting under the luxury tax thresh hold.

All I remember of Rob Wilfong is he got the game tying hit in the bottom of the 9th of Game 5 of the 1986 ALCS, but for some inexplicable reason, did not go to 2nd on the throw home. Schofield came up next, got a base hit to left center field which would have scored Wilfong from 2nd with the game winning RBI, but instead Wilfong went 1st to 3rd and got stranded there.

I think Moustakas would be an excellent resource to find out what's going on too. He's been on really good teams, and he's been on really bad teams. He can't really do that as an active player though because he'd be seen as a snitch. He needs to find a job in a couple of months.

If they were bringing in Percival and Erstad, that would be my guess.

The last time before this year that this team played meaningful games in August (forget September, August!) was in 2015 except for the covid year when 30 teams played meaningful games in August.

Both Moustakas and Moniak are platoon players. They would be effective in that role even on a good ballclub. They've been forced to play everyday because of injuries, and guys coming up that were raking at AAA but have been completely unable to hit at the big league level.

I'm starting to seriously wonder if they can even match last year's horrible record at this point. 73 wins seems like a long shot they way they are playing. They'll be 64-74 after tonight. I don't know if this team can even manage to go 9-15. They're really that horrible right now.

I remember getting a really great deal on a bunch of Vladdy jerseys at the team store after the 2009 season. They were 80% off. I didn't care he wasn't with the team anymore. I loved Vladdy! I bought 5 of them. lol

And Arte wonders why people hate him for not selling the team.  Hell with excuses, he's not the only reason but the MAIN reason why we have a long season losing streak.  If it quacks like the reason...

I doubt either of them want to coach 162 games a year.
I think they’re in there to evaluate how the team is operating and then let Arte know what they saw.

If it's not that, then it could be them essentially evaluating the current staff for Moreno to see if any are worth saving.

If the coaches are smart, they probably already know their job is in jeopardy.

This current coaching staff shouldn’t worry about what this looks like. The team has shit the bed and I haven’t seen an adjustment made.
