What is the recovery prognosis for a 6' 9" pitcher with a right shoulder injury causing Jeff Niemann to miss all of 2013?

If we seriously want to get in on Paul Maholm, then we better get off our asses as the Rangers seem to have some interest. Its one thing to lose a possible option to the Brewers but not to the Rangers.

Although he is a league of his own, it will be interesting to see the Kimbrel arbitration play out. He's in his first year of arbitration and is asking 9.0 versus 6.55. Since the Braves are a "file and trial" team, this will be resolved in February. I wish that this whole arbitration period could be moved up so that the decisions are not so close to Spring Training.

I also find it interesting that no one mentions that A-Rod had to sue the union in order to maintain his legal standing with his other suits. Surely one of the Angelswin attorneys can shed some light on this.

I found it interesting that MLB players pay their union $65.00 per day. Is this for 162 days? That's a fair amount of bread.

What is happening with the Angels and Latin America? I know we dismantled the operation but is it back on its feet yet. For a Latino owner we seem to be missing the boat here.

Earlier in this thread it was brought up that Seattle has an edge because of no state income taxes. This would only apply to the 81 games at home, the rest are taxed at the visiting state's applicable rate. Still an edge, not just as big of one.

Stradling, As an old Angel fan I can personally comment about the ACA' s effect on Medicare. They are taking money from Medicare to finance the uninsured so yes there are impacts. I enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan and my policy this year had several unwelcome changes - my out of pocket maximum increased from $3400 to $6700 and my inpatient hospital stays went from a $0 copay to $264 per day for the first seven days and my drug copays all went up. Obviously this is the first year and i expect more of these kind of changes for the next several years. At this point, at least my premium is still $0 (the government does deduct $104.90 from my Social Security per month) but I expect this to change also

Not with the team but the organization. I am a spring training season ticket holder and I have been trying to get some one from the sales office to contact me about upgrading my tickets. I have left several messages but I guess this is too bothersome for them to call me back. I tried to order some additional spring training tickets today at 10:00 when they went on sale to Angel Insiders and was unable to get the site to work. This may be a problem with the Ticketmaster program but ultimately it is an Angel problem. I guess that this is the end to my spring training support of the Angels.

I think that Santana was replaced by Williams not Blanton. There is a big difference between 13 mil and 2 mil and last time I looked Jerome was 5-4 and Santana was 5-5.

Only 36k at the game for the Bosox and a beautiful Saturday night in SoCal. Where are the fans? Pretty amazing with our #3 and #4 pitchers out and our best hitter gone also.
