  1. Three minutes in, Schneider already yanked, Luongo already gave one up to Hall.... 3-0 Oilers 2:43 in. Did I die and go to heaven?
  2. Welcome! Nice, at least someone else will be here to rant when Tambellini does something at the deadline like trade Paajarvi to Boston for some magic beans.
  3. Ha! B's left at the altar again. First Morrow, now Iginla. I think Hemsky and Whitney are gonna be moved. Hemmer is so underrated. Whomever lands him will be getting a gem.
  4. Nice! I haven't played The Show because I am an XBox guy (at least until the next-gen consoles come out). I'm sure they do a pretty good job in rendering even the minor league parks. Regarding Coca-Cola Park- I live in the Lehigh Valley so I go to a few Iron Pigs games each year and the park is beautiful. It's a great atmosphere. I really shouldn't be this excited to try these new games but I'm easily amused so I can't wait.
  5. Nikolai Khabibulin finds some of his old magic en route to a 43 save shutout of St. Louis. Nice job pumping up that deadline trade value, Nik! Oilers win despite being outshot 43-19. I will take it.
  6. I am drinking gallons of water before I go to Iron Pigs games this season.
  7. I've read the op four times and I'm convinced I'm missing something. There's no way a Machado for Conger trade was just suggested as something to look at. That's just silly. Hold out until they throw in Bundy and Gausman for gods sakes.
  8. According to both Marty McSorley and Doug MacLean, Darryl Sutter has been pushing for the Kings to make a deadline trade for Jarome Iginla. Iginla has waived his no-movement clause.
  9. So far tonight Kostitsyn has managed to stay on the ice and has a goal and an assist. I liked "well, screw it I'm outta here" Sergei Kostitsyn better.
  10. Daryl Katz is an odd one as well. He's the owner of Rexall Pharmaceuticals and was an Oilers fan before he purchased the team from the Edmonton Investors Group. He's a little too attached to Kevin Lowe if you ask me. I guess he wants to maintain some sort of attachment to the dynasty. He rarely speaks publicly unless it has to do with stadium funding. Since the new stadium was approved by the City of Edmonton I haven't heard a peep from him. I also fear that when Steve Tambellini is finally given his walking papers that Lowe will remain due to that attachment to the 80's. Lowe needs to go as well. I have no idea how he was promoted in the first place. Everyone seems to fail upwards in that organization.
  11. Well, looks like I'll be dropping out of this tie for second. My friend went to G'Town and I plan on yelling at him at our fantasy draft tomorrow.
  12. Bucs are "losing patience" with the Jets in negotiating for Darrelle Revis, according to the NY Post. The Bucs are the only team interested in trading for Revis and are unwilling to give up the 13th pick in the draft. I'm not really sure what Mark Dominik expected. If you're going to deal with the circus you've gotta expect them to act like clowns. I say let the Jets choke on Revis and go spend a third of the cash he'd cost on Brent Grimes instead.
  13. Boy am I glad I didn't run out and buy a Bynum jersey. What a lost season for my Sixers.
  14. I originally tried coming up with something involving the word "Gulf" but came up empty.
  15. Congrats, guys. That's fantastic news for the Ducks and you fans.
  16. Well played, Topps. This is like making a Nelson Cruz card with "Hamstringing the Competition" on it.
  17. How about it! Not only will he no longer be seeing Oklahoma City, but he won't be seeing anything other than the top two lines. I couldn't be happier about Mags tearing it up.
  18. Nice win last night for the boys. Kostitsyn's shift on the Oilers' shorthanded goal was something to behold. Preds were on a powerplay, Kostitsyn couldn't handle a pass, Gagner takes possession and Kostitsyn immedately quits on the play and goes off for a shift change while Gagner fed Petrell for the goal. He left Weber and Pekka out to dry. Worse yet, he didn't even get saddled with a -1 as he got off the ice before the goal. Watch the bench go ballistic as he comes off for the change. This week we've got San Jose and St. Louis. As of this second, Edmonton is two out of the 8th seed, four out of the NW Division lead. I sure hope that Center Ice has an Oilers feed for each game because I can't stand listening to Drew Remenda complain about all the missed calls the Sharks aren't getting. Then I'll have to listen to Darren Pang do the same during the Blues game.
  19. Today the Bucs signed Kevin Ogletree, best known for his 2 TD, 114 yard receiving effort against the Giants on opening night of the 2012 NFL season. He followed this up by making you realize that you wasted your time running to the waiver wire to get him on your fantasy team.
  20. I didn't get any cake. I better check my iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts for road cinders from now on. The true money shot would have been if "Written and directed by Dennis Rodman" flashed up on the screen at the end.
  21. I figured Shanahammer would nail Perry. That suspension flow chart is gold. And true. I'm certain Brendan Shanahan closes his eyes and picks a number between 1 and 5 out of a hat.
  22. Also, here's Josh Freeman as Michael Jackson.
  23. Since I have a thread in the NHL forum (created by Angelduck) about my mostly terrible hockey team, I figured I'd start one about my NFL team. This way all of my ranting and Doug Martin worshipping can be contained in one thread. Don't call him Muscle Hamster. Seriously. He hates it. Today, as also stated in the Niners thread, Mark Dominik signed Dashon Goldson to a 5 year, 41.25 million dollar deal with 22 million of the contract guaranteed. According to 620 WDAE in Tampa, the Bucs have told Ronde Barber that, should he decide to come back, they will sign him but he would be a nickel corner. If Ronde decides to keep playing and wants to start elsewhere, I'd like to see him reunited with Raheem Morris in Washington. Ronde and Raheem were very close when Morris was head coach in Tampa. I look forward to five years of the Goldson and Barron duo working together. I also look forward to five years of Buc fans botching the name Dashon Goldson into names like Desean Goldstone and Deshawn Goldsten. One caller on the radio show I listened to today repeatedly called Ronde "Rodney."
  24. Vin Scully's call of that play: "That was.... novel."
