Lol whoa, double up on that happy pill bro... I think you can't take anything from just one game. His velocity was down, but game time temp was 48 degrees and his whole rhythm and command were off until the later innings he pitched. I'm not worried about it because he isn't a big velocity guy as well, like many have stated he has relied on deception and his off-speed pitches throughout his career. Throwing 98 is nice and all, but doesn't mean anything if you can't control it. Control is more important than speed.

I just started watching the series Deadwood, never seen it before. I'm on episode 7 of the first season. Love it so far.

He looked great tonight. Hopefully he can give that to us majority of his starts.

With all due respect, I"m not trying to call you out, I'm just disagreeing with your opinion. He has looked mediocre at best and this outing is no vote of confidence. For what we've seen, we could have kept Kendrys, let him walk in the off-season, and signed a pitcher instead. Vargas does nothing for me, gives me no sense of confidence.

Vargas is gonna be a major let down, not sold on him at all this spring.
