  1. This is not how Doug Eddings would call it...
  2. Hey Melvin...you're the one who "set up your rotation" - whereas Scioscia just went along with whomever was next in line...especially Saturday's merry go round. Your offense: 1.) Got traded to Boston and 2.) Hurt himself tying to catch a homer.
  3. Fresneck JC is a joke of a program...Enjoy your time on THE FARM next week...
  4. The HP ump squeezed Kaz...I mean, if it was Weaver or CJ, I would be pretty dang miffed. But Kaz is Kaz...last 2 starts - horrific....
  5. First of all, the A's have always had pitching. I mean friggin' good young pitchers. This season, no different. Then - Billy Beane decides to "go all in" and makes that trade with the Cubs. Hammel wasn't pitching that great in Chicago...and he's wiffing in the AL...MISS That Notre Dame receiver has been pretty steady...so that's a WIN So - Oakland is hitting and they got the staff...BUT they trade the Halo Killer - Cespedes....great bat...better arm....for a dude who they can only trot out every 5th day. WHOOPS! Said it at the time...but the Oakland A's effed up. Cespedes is young and talented, and Lester is a FA after the season...right? So...now the A's who were TIED FOR FIRST place last Sunday - August 24th, find themselves FIVE games behind one week later. This reminds me of Los Doyers, who felt the need to trade team leader, catcher Paul LoDuca to Miami for Brad Penny. The team was solidly in 1st at the trade deadline - but their GM felt the need to "make a move" The team faded - but barely hung on to win the division...Sometimes you can't eff with this thingy called CHEMISTRY. Also - just an observation...Are the A's the "Whitest" team in MLB? Cespedes traded and CoCo hurt...last two days...it's like the Halos were playing a scruffy beach team from Newport Beach (they hit like it too). #FireBillyBeane
  6. Remember he actually got hits vs. the Yankees? It was the REVERSE SLUMP. You know how Tony Gwynn or Rod Carew or George Brett would go cold for about 2 -3 games? Then pick up their hitting? Mathis was the reverse. He sucked for 130 games, caught fire that year in the playoffs...then dropped off to his usual .203
  7. I wonder how his REAL son, Matt feels about that? I guess Mike "Two Rings" Napoli didn't fit the profile huh? Or Bengie "Gold Glove" Molina was too slow? At least Bengie HIT THE FREAKING ball...especially when it mattered. Jeff Mathis will always be the "Second Ranked Catching Prospect"- behind JOE MAUER
  8. Come Guys! It's all ball bearings now a days.... besides...Trout's G/F, Jessica moved out to the west coast.
  9. Sorry...but even the Gubi contribution can't save this mess of a song. Horrible..horrible type of music.
  10. got beer - got no clue. One thing Albert has become..is a leader. It started long before his bow & arrow shot back to Trout...then him running on Puig...he's obvious concern with GRich...helping with the cart. He's actually running his fat a$$ off. Andy Fletcher is an awful home plate ump. AWFUL Rabbit ears dip shat...I'm sure he confused Weaver's voice for Albert's....Fletcher blows...and so does this thread.
  11. I know there's some DUCKS fans here...but the ANGELS are very similar to the KINGS...how they bounce back and survive. Pure guts..and heart..and great leadership in that room (Albert Let's just hope the Angels grab the same prize similar to what the Kings did...
  12. Best-available AAA options are Wade LeBlanc , Randy Wolf , or Chris Volstad
  13. Easy now Halo Honks...let's not start eating our own. Save that for Dodger fans
  14. Notice all the Halos with a .300 avg. or more? I remember that one game when ALL 9 players in the lineup had .300 BA or higher. 2014 Version? We got none...
  15. Trout won the 'Vette for being the All-Star game MVP....did you miss that game...because this one "mattered"...
  16. http://rangersblog.dallasnews.com/2014/08/angels-manager-exasperated-with-josh-hamilton-says-hes-not-same-player-he-was-with-rangers.html/ Another excuse by the manager in keeping Josh the K clean up...total block head "Scioscia said he is not prepared to remove Hamilton from the cleanup position. Doing that would require a significant shuffling of the lineup." Wasn't this similar to the lame excuse he used a few years back when we blew a chance to take the first 3 games v Texas of a huge 4 game series? "Significant" - Think outside the box Captain Platoon...
  17. Sorry Kenny - I can't hear you...I've got TWO Stanley Cups in my ears...
  18. Once again....Mike Scioscia refuses to move Mr. Golden Sombrero from the Clean Up spot. So sad he's so stubborn or scared when dealing with veterans. Show some stones and remove him from the 4th spot or better yet - the line up - #ChickenShit
  19. Jepsen should never enter any ball game that is in inning 8 - 9 or beyond. Smith should have started 8th...plain and simple...but a 4 run cushion allowed Scioscia to make the move he did. I have as much confidence in Kevin Jepsen shutting the door as I do Josh Hamilton aka Andruw Jones getting a clutch RBI...
  20. Boston? So bench him against Texas?
  21. Trout needs a slump buster...
  22. Plus Cespedes has a freakin' cannon for an arm...
