  1. Look - I'm 64. Been around a long ass time.

The LA Times has no beat writers for NHL hockey. They send no one to cover the DUCKS or KINGS even during a home game. The Times will send writers to OHIO to cover a prep basketball game or to TEXAS for a prep football game - but they use Associated Press to cover the hockey games?

Now - ARTE - that cheap son of a b itch is cutting costs - first with his minor leaguers - and now 2 announcers & a tech is too much money? There's always things that go on around the ballpark during games - that the TV misses. Maybe between innings - maybe in the stands - in the dugouts. If you're there - you can report it.

    F-U-C-K Arte -

  2.  First it was failing to land Vlad Jr.... Now it's Troy Percival's son:

"Two years ago, Cole Percival's future in baseball was up in the air. He had not been selected by a major-league team in the shortened 2020 MLB Draft. The team he had hoped would offer him a contract as an undrafted free agent never made an overture. Then the program he intended to return to at UC Riverside, where his dad, Troy, had become head baseball coach some five years after throwing his final pitch in the major leagues, seemed likely to be cut. He had to make a choice — transfer to a new school and hope he’d be able to re-enter the draft, or latch onto the best team that was willing to sign him for a mere $20,000.The DODGERS came calling. Percival was a lifelong ANGELS fan, but the team for which his dad closed out the 2002 World Series and a franchise-best 316 games never approached with an offer. He took the plunge, confident in the Dodgers’ prolific player development system. Percival now is reaping the benefits. He moved up to Double-A Tulsa last week.

The 23-year-old has a 3.59 ERA in 54 games since last season. He has struck out 22 percent of batters in his 133 career innings, most of which have come in a bulk relief role. There are areas of his game left to refine, but it’s clear he’s on a promising track."

  3. Dude can't play RIGHT FIELD - can't play LEFT FIELD.

Remember - the team let Kole Calhoun go because Adell was waiting in the wings.

Sure, Kole isn't hitting that great...but his defense was always - still is - spectacular.

Reminds me of how they let Bengie Molina go because the had the #2 catching prospect behind Joe Mauer waiting in the wings in Jeff "couldn't hit water if he fell outta a friggin' boat" Mathis aka Sosh's pet.

Sent him down - brought up this AA catcher...who was better...but soon traded him...only to consistently torment his former team.

  4. I grew up with Enberg & Drysdale in the booth. Bob Starr, Joe Buttitia, etc.

I liked Steve Physioc & the Hud man - and hated Victor Rojas & Gubi. But - that pair grew on me like 2 dudes hanging out talking baseball & I was the third wheel.

When Victor left to gain experience on being a GM - the Halos fudged up the process. Patrick O'Neil is fine. He loves the Halos & he's knows the sport. He's getting better

At least he's there live - not in Jersey watching on his TV.

KINGS fans hate Alex Faust (cuz he's no Bob Miller) but as soon as the team has the "national broadcasters" on TNT or ESPN - fans can't wait to have Alex & Jim Fox back.

I blame the Bally's joke of a set up & Arte the cheapy...Over pays for old players yet effs over his own minor leaguers.

Do you have a quote from Pujols on that subject? I seemed to have missed that interview bite.

I asked Jeff Fletcher of the OC Register on Twitter a few years ago about this. I asked if Albert would "go into Arte's office" and pull a Brady or a Bostock.

Fletcher answered that basically: Albert firmly believes that he can lead this team to the playoffs.

  6. Albert is an a$$ hole. The dude literally believed the he ALONE could lead the team to the playoffs.

Dude know the biggest problems with "his team"...sorry..."Mike Trout's Team" was pitching. But did Le Machine walk into Arte's office & do a TOM BRADY? Restructure so the organization could go after elite pitchers?

Or even a LYMAN BOSTOCK - who had enough class & pride to walk into Gene Autry's office and return his paycheck - because he was hitting like crap and he believed he "didn't deserve it"?

NO - Fooking Albert just took the $25, $26, $27, $28, $29 and $30 MILLION the last 6 seasons & looked after his own legacy.

    ALWC: Yankees over Red Sox

    NLWC: Dodgers over Cardinals

ALDS: Rays over Yankees, Astros over White Sox

NLDS: Giants over Dodgers, Braves over Brewers

    ALCS: Rays over Astros

    NLCS: Giants over Braves

    WS: Rays over Giants

Sox over Yanks, Cards over the whining bitches, Rays over Sox, Giants over Cards, Bravos over Brew Crew, Cheaters over ChiSox

Giants over Bravos - Rays over Cheaters

Giants beat Rays because: 1.) It'll really piss off Whining bitches fans, 2.) I'm sick of Tampa & their fake titles in hockey, in football and making the Series last season in the fake Series....

Wow. What a shitty way to end the game.

Can we get rid of Kurt Suzkui, Cishek & Joe Maddon?

Also what's up with the offense after they score early? They seem to go to sleep with the bats after they blow their load early.

    It's over.

No clutch hitting to pile on the lead.

    Runners stranded.

    Bullpen is an arson squad.

    Maddon is the Fire Chief.

Trout might as well go for the Rendon Route & kick it 'til next year.

Theme of the day: Perry is earning a failing grade. Discuss (particularly if the bullpen lays a rotten egg.)

For you GMs here on this site - can you REALLY blame Perry? Financially - the organization's hands have been tied because of the fooking Star - Crossed owner - who over paid for free agents who have busted. In fact - since Vlad - Arte has failed to sign significant players & has overreacted to personal moves.

Vernon Wells panic trade b/c Carl Crawford signed elsewhere to vetoing that Joc trade with Dodgers.

THE ANGELS LACK OF SUCCESS FALLS SQUARELY ON ARTE MORENO'S SHOULDERS.....and the DiPo Roberto Baldoquin signing. What an idiot.

You know you've effed up as the GM when....

    - Phil Gosselin is your cleanup hitter and starting in LF.

    - Jack Mayfield is your starting 3B and you've effectively nutured your AL team into an NL team.

    - Juan Lagares has started the most games in CF.

    - You're depending on Dylan Bundy and Jose Quintana in crucial late game moments.

Perry Minasian has completely failed in his first year as GM. The only bright spots on this team are more the results of Eppler's team building rather than Minasian's.

Don't get me wrong, it was time for a new GM. But Perry Minasian so far appears to be no better than his predecessors. And that's a low bar for the most part.

That's  "GOLD GLOVE WINNING" Juan Lagares has started the most games in CF.

  11. Gubi & Sutton turned into a total homer act. All Ohtani..all the time. I mean, it was gushing homerism.

Matt isn't the most unbias announcer either: "Get down! Get down!" - I mean - stop rooting.

I've been around since the days of Enberg, Drysdale, Bob Starr, etc....and. .IMO...Sutton was not the best. Maybe it's doing game in front of a monitor and not in person...but the team of Gubi & Sut / Matt have become somewhat unlistenable.

Never thought I'd miss Victor Rojas...but I do.

Bad Mt. "Crashmore" from the absolute worst to almost as bad

    1. HANDS DOWN UNANIMOUS WINNER:  Josh Hamilton (a terrible signing from Day One )

    2. Very close second: Gary Matthews Jr. (A terrible signing from day one - five year deal - all because of a highlight reel catch that the guy would never be able to make again). NO ONE on this board liked this signing from the moment it happened and then GMJ proved through his play why it was such a terrible acquisition/ contract/ signing.

3,) Mo Vaughn - became an absolute poison in the clubhouse, got hurt tumbling down the steps of the dugout his first week in a Halos uniform,  He rebounded to out up some OK stats but never lived up to his billing and expected to be a team leader type for performance on the field and by his conduct off the field - failed miserably to meet expectations in both. The negative impact he had on the organization hadn't been seen since the Alex Johnson - Chico Ruiz (the MIF depth guy who pulled a gun in the locker room) days.

4, Gary Gaetti -- some folks may not remember this signing -- he was a slugging third baseman for Minnesota coming off a great season(s) there and come here and was hitting about .200 (if that) by the all star break that first year here -- played about another season for the Halos and rebounded a bit but never to the all star numbers he had in Minnesota. He bounced around after the Halos years and actually put up some good numbers in years with KC and St. Louis after leaving the Halos. Total flop as an Angel.

    5. Vernon Wells - I guess we traded for him (I can't remember who went to Toronto ) so perhaps he belongs on a separate list with Kent Bottenfield -- but this deal (I thought it was a F/A signing -- I think it was a trade and sign to an extension deal  perhaps?) was terrible from day one and so did most of the folks here.  He was a huge disappointment here. Terrible decision by the front office to acquire him -- I think it came as response to the Dodgers making some big signing / deal - why we felt the need into that New York Yankees/ Mets 'who can dominate the  off -season headlines' war is beyond me - then and now., But that is what I think motivated us here (as well as with the GMJ signing). Just dumb.

    6. There was a relief pitcher we signed -- closer guy - I forget his name  (Madsen?)- think he pitched for Philly (several years) and then Cincinnati for a year or two as a closer. - was great in Philly (set up guy mainly) did OK as a closer in Cincy -- we signed him and I think he hurt his arm warming up the first day of spring training. I think we signed him to a two year (maybe three) deal and I don't think he ever appeared in a single regular season game with us. In fact, I think the extent of his 'pitches' total was the warm up that first day or two of spring training when he got hurt.  He rehabbed on the Halos dollar for about two season and later came back (I think with KC, Oakland, maybe played for both teams) and actually returned to closing duties and had some modicum level of success after he left the Halos, A terrible waste of payroll for us,

NOW -- I do not place Albert Pujols on this list. The contract was for too long and for too much -- but everyone was pretty excited that he was coming to Anaheim - he got off to a terrible start of this Halos career after absolutely stellar seasons in St, Louis, And that's all everyone remembers. He got off to a terrible start and then towards the end of the Halos contract (which everyone knew was going to be a problem/ issue) he simply could not run anymore (Mr, GIDP) and became a liability on defense -- but for a period of about 7/8 years of that ten year deal - he rebounded from the slow start and put up some respectable numbers -- folks only seem to remember the slow start and disappointed that we did not get the St. Louis ten year production numbers - which wouldn't have happened in St, Louis either.

1.) "I play for my teammates, not the fans" - Eff You Josh - Go toss another ball to a fan in LF - whoops. What? Too soon?

2.) GMJr never...I mean NEVER had a clutch hit in Texas - nor Anaheim. Made a great catch on Opening Night in Anaheim - but hit like crap.

3.) Mo fell down the stair first game.

skip to 5) Wells was a trade (Napoli) because we couldn't sign Carl Crawford and Sosh loved his pet Mathis.

ALBERT - After the first month, nobody cared about him. He sucked. I once asked Jeff Fletcher of the OC Register if Albert "might" go to Arte and either: Pull a Lyman Bostock & give a refund for his underserving money - OR - restructure his deal (like TOM BRADY) so the team could maybe sign a high caliber pitcher like a COLE or BAUER. Fletcher told me something like 'Albert believes he can lead the team to the playoffs and/or he signed his contract and he deserves that money'...

The Cards knew he was on the downtick - Arte is star-crossed - so he overpays for a declining selfish player and St. Louis is laughing...

  13. GOOD MT. RUSHMORE: Vladdy (best ever), Bobby Grich, Torii Hunter and Don Baylor (OKAY - Inside Pitch corrected me - as I only relied on my memory - thinking the cowboy emptied his money bags for Carew, DeCinces & Lynn. REVISED)

Honorable Mention: Chili Davis, (some might say - but I don't) Bart Colon, Reggie Jackson

BAD MT. RUSHMORE: Albert, Josh, Mo, GMJr

    MANY Honorable Mentions....
