  1. Both are good. Yes because I know you and your sarcasm. My bad I didn't know you were trying to make a funny. Alls good.
  2. I would really like someone to tell me how with this roster Mike is supposed to do anything more than he's doing. He has 1 all star positional player. No all star starting pitchers, no all star bull pen pitchers. a shit bench and about absolute nothing in the minor leagues. How are you supposed to win with a team built like this. Now if you wanna argue he and Arte are reasons why this team is where they are with the talent than sure I will grant you some of that but come on. Even the mighty Joe Madden couldn't win with this bunch of donkeys in our line up and in our rotation.
  3. This might be the dumbest thing ever. Dude chill out you have about 9 months to get on a baseball field there is no reason to rush anything. Slow your roll kid.
  4. It really is comical now. I mean no one is still getting upset if the Angels lose right?
  5. Can we draft a player who plays 8 other positions on the field including pitcher and catcher at the same time at an all star caliber level I think that might be the only way the Angels sniff the playoffs in the next say 4 years.
  6. Its not a terrible place to play but its also not a great place to watch a game either. After going to some other ball parks even in the state like you said AT&T and Petco Angels stadium comes in at a distant 3rd. But hey its better than watching a game in Oakland or at the Ravine so were doing something right. My curiosity is going to be where the Dodgers end up playing and how soon they build a new stadium with the truck load of money that ownership team has. I don't see them staying in the Ravine much longer they are gonna wanna get in on some of that down town LA scene.
  7. What do you expect him to say. "honestly guys fuck it I can't manage 24 pieces of shit and Trout and be expected to win a baseball game can Arte and Eppler please get me some fucking help because Trout and I have been talking and he's about ready to say he pulled a hammy and head off to Hawaii for the rest of the season, and I'm going to Italy for some solid lasagna because dammit to hell I can't find a decent Italian restaurant in Orange County to save my life, and fuck the drive I have back to Thousand Oaks everyday is killing me can I please get Kobe's helicopter?"
  8. Theres not a chance in hell any other city in Orange County offers the Angels any type of money. Arte will either build his own stadium or he will sign the extension in 2019 and the stadium will be just older. By that time Arte will more than likely sell because he won't want to pony up the dough to build a new stadium.
  9. Sure he's lucky he met him. But read his bio he was at proctor and gamble and went to Harvard and then Stanford. I just hate the luck thing people day. It diminishes in my mind hard work people put in. Luck is what happens when you put in the work and have the right relationships. It's not like he won the lotto. He was the CEO of Microsoft for 15 years. He must have done a couple things right. I dislike the luck thing because it's an excuse thing people who have things to complain about. It's the oh he's just lucky if my coach liked me as good as this player so and so would have been an all star. More than likely that guy screaming this guy was lucky js just bitter. Luck is a combination of great timing hard work being awesome at what you do and having the right relationships. Is Arte lucky the Angels were so cheap compared to now or was he smart to strike when the iron was hot. Sorry if it is a little rambling on a bit.
  10. Sounds smart why wouldn't you sell at an all time high. Let's hope mr lucky Steve Balmer or Stan the man buys the team
  11. What is all this he's gonna sell talk. I may be mistaken but I don't think I've ever heard Arte hint at selling the team. But I definitely could be wrong.
  12. I'm not a Microsoft guy so pardon me. I didn't know Balmer was there from the beginning. But Balmer was CEO for a good what 15 years. I just did a Google search cause really that's the only thing I knew about him was that he was CEO after Gates. But hey guy went to Harvard and Stanford not bad for a guy who just got lucky. He was CEO when Microsoft started X Box which the only thing of Microsoft I buy now. But if to answer your question before googling him the three names I know is Gates Allen and Balmer.
  13. Ok. I just can't stand that oh your lucky you did this and that. Sure some is luck but it's about the hard work and being a stud at what you do.
  14. I doubt he needs to spend a billion to build a stadium. But even say he needs to spend a billion. He's already made what 2 billion on the tv contract? He would be fine financially especially because ticket prices would rise, marketing, etc. But see that's what I'm talking about Strad why would you want the city residents to fork over that kind of tax revenue. That will only fatten the owners wallets it won't have an economic impact that benefits the residents it would only cost them more and more money
  15. Haha I love people who are just well this guys worth billions but it is all luck. My goodness. I'm guessing you think Phelps was just in the right swimming lane. I'm sure he's not a tireless worker making sacrifices to be the best and is gifted physically.
  16. You know how people pay for stuff like stadiums right? It's not like he has to right a 500 million dollar check. The stadium will pay for itself with revenue he generates from the stadium. These owners aren't building arenas and owning sports teams because they are losing money. They are making bank especially football and baseball owners. Arte signed a what 1 or 2 billion dollar television contract and that's just tv. Think revenue from the stadium. Food contracts. Marketing with naming rights and signage at the stadium. Tickets for games and leasing out for other events. Please don't cry poor for Arte he's doing just fine
  17. Oh geez. I didn't say it was bad. Read what I wrote. It's a token hire meaning he probably wants to get in the front office and it's all about relationships. Eric doesn't have a high position in the front office. Stop trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. Nothing wrong with his hiring. A lot of ex players do stuff like this.
  18. If you owned the land what would your compromise be? Being a business person I am guessing not know what you do. But how much would you give up to just keep the Angels in Anaheim rather than having them another 30 miles away?
  19. I understand that notion but most of OC if not all of OC is like that neighborhood safe cities. You don't find a lot of crime in OC whether its South or North of it. Not sure where you live but having an area thats similar to North Irvine/ Newport area where the high rise town home condo tracks are could be built in such a way people would feel safe there as well. Especially those neighborhoods. Not everyone wants to drive down to Irvine from north OC an area safe and nice in the heart of Anaheim could be beneficial to both the city and its residents.
  20. Lets just have Balmer buy the Ducks and Angels and keep them all in Anaheim and we win because dudes loaded and wants to win. My thought though is that Balmer bought the Clippers because they are in LA and I don't see him moving them to Anaheim which would be awesome. Seeing as similar to the Angels there is no way the Clippers over take the Lakers/Dodgers for supremacy in the OC/LA area.
  21. I wonder if there is any room for Ballmer at the new Rams site? Hell if Arte puts the Angels for sale Could Ballmer buy the Angels and have the Angels and Clippers either in Anaheim or LA ... Not sure how much room is at the Rams location. Just a thought.
  22. Completely agree. Whether the Angels stay or not something new will be built there. Something that will bring and keep people spending money.
