  1. But aren't the Angels supposed to be you know letting him get his feet back under him? This isn't little league you can't have a starting pitcher go 3 innings. If that's what's happening throw him back in AAA
  2. I didn't see game. Why did Skaggs only pitch 3.1 innings today?
  3. Oh no not him what will we ever do. Didn't even know he was still on the team.
  4. I'm all in favor of firing Mike but this year isn't on Mike for the on field stuff. No manager could win with this back of lackluster donkeys. I agree Mike has too much power whether it be perceived from the fans or not. It sure seems like he has a whole lot of say on this lets win now rather than build and win for the future. I'm not defending Mike we've made the playoffs once in the last what 6 year or 7 years? That's not good enough, but the losing this year is on the bunch of craptastic voyage that this GM put together this year that he calls a roster. Even if the pitchers didn't get hurt this team was a below 500 team
  5. True. But its not like prices for professional sports franchises are going down. It might be stabilizing a bit but they are definitely on the upward trend. No matter if Arte sold today or in 10 years from now, there is only one thing for certain he is going to make a killing. What a hell of an investment of 160 something million dollars.
  6. This is pretty awesome though. I would have never guessed that it would be this spread out over all 4 spots. I am curious to know of the people who think managers account for more than 10 wins how many more than 10 wins do they think managers account for.
  7. The sun will come rise and set. Of course the Mariners will be bad again just like the Angels will be good again. Look at the Yankees they are awful right now. No team stays on top forever. The Atlanta Braves won 14 or 15 division titles in a row and now they are awful. No team is ever hopeless. It depends what direction you are going and if the trend is upwards or downwards.
  8. Hope lies in finding starting pitching and relief pitching. If they don't do that then it don't matter who they put in LF. Could you imagine Error I mean Escobar playing 2nd after Simmons made a great play at short tossing it to 2nd just to see Escobar fumble it and kick the ball to first
  9. Hopeless I don't know but maybe directionless is a better way of putting it.
  10. It's not like Arte isn't known to eat more more money than most MLB owners. It seems yearly he signs a crap contract and then eats it a year or two later. Vern GMJ Hamilton the list goes on it would assume.
  11. Fuck dude. It's not this difficult. It's a question. Not an exact science. I'm not even asking war I'm asking what do YOU think a manager does a year
  12. No offense to Trout but Aybar was my favorite player on this team while Aybar was here. He was like a goofy little brother. Always looked like he had no idea he was being paid to play this game. Had a grin on his face all the time and always looked like he was having the best time. Even his tantrums were that of comic relief as if your little brother didn't get that piece of gum from your parents. I wish nothing but the best for that goofy short stop
  13. My question is how many games do u think a manager wins you a year. This isn't an exact science it's a question that we can never know the exact answer to. My only thought on it is I think football hockey even basketball coaches with schemes systems and plays help you win games. Where as I think baseball managers are more or less the same. Why I put managers probably win you 0-3 games a year. Your opinion can and probably will be different. Hence why I threw the question out there. Angels fans similar to every fan base blames the manager a lot. So I was curious what the fans on this site thought a baseball manager accounts for wins wise a year
  14. Just to be fun. I didn't want any of those guys. They were all ehh to me. The only one who was in the slightest appealing to me was Cespedes and even then I wouldn't have spent the money on him with his age and what he costs. Way too much risk involved.
  15. That's the point. What do you think a manager actually brings to the table. How many wins can a manager get you himself a year.
  16. I thought this would be a fun experiment. I've always said that a baseball manager effects the least amount of games a year. I was curious, how many wins does a good manager win you on a given year?
