  1. Trumbo has HR's in 4 straight games Brewers swept Boston. Red Sox swept just once last season.
  2. Link here: https://www.edx.org/course/bux/bux-sabr101x-sabermetrics-101-1558 I just signed up. Looks to have potential to be really cool and fun.
  3. Arte may be at fault for "bad baseball moves" but one thing he can't be at fault for is trying to win, and being willing to spend HIS MONEY to do so. That's a lot more than fans of other teams can say about their owner(s)....
  4. This one was pretty good too: http://www.thefumble.com/galleries/25-ugliest-athletes-all-time/2003716#ptop
  5. I'd gladly take Mattingly over Scioscia if it meant Honeycutt over Butcher
  6. BEES WIN 9-0!!! Grube with a 2 hit complete game shutout (11 K’s)! Game 4 tomorrow night! -SL Bees tweet
  7. Bees vs Aaron Harang today. Hopefully the success of the Angels against him filter down to the Bees
  8. Sac fly walks the Bees off again. Marte may have injured his shoulder on the head first dive into home
  9. Stange gave up a 2 out single followed by a game tying RBI double. Tied at 4 heading to the bottom of the 9th
  10. 3 up 3 down in the 9th for Stange. Heid, Field, Long due up for the Bees in the bottom of the 9th
  11. Cousins ties it up at 3 in the bottom of the 8th with an RBI single. Heading to the 9th in SL
  12. If you've ever seen him throw... he has a cannon of an arm....and with good speed I think he is a very capable defender in the games I've seen him in SL.
  13. Alex Torres - 40.0 IP, 50 SO, .80 Whip, 1.35 ERA, 4-0. Arguably the best reliever in the AL. Kazmir will haunt us forever. Moral of the story should be that the Angels don't participate in trades for pitchers with the Rays or Braves ever again.
  14. I can't even begin to understand what he thinks he can get away with. What a douche
  15. His fastball maxed at 86-88. He's washed up. If he gets called up, he will get hit around as bad as Blanton
  16. I would agree with just about any deal that rids the Angels of those two contracts and doesn't include Mike Trout in the deal
  17. Fangraphs' "clutch" stat compares a player against himself. So if Trout's OBP is .450 in high-leverage situations (which I would say isn't too shabby) he is declared "not clutch" because his normal OBP is the same. That said, his -2.3 "clutch" reading shows the need for improvement. According to baseball-reference, Trout's OPS: Low Leverage: 1.083 Medium Leverage: 1.052 High Leverage: .658 There again the stats are hiding the truth IMO. His OBP in those same situations is .463, .402, and .365. What's killing Trout's OPS in high leverage situations is his slugging % of .293 (compared to .621 and .649 in the other situations.) In a high leverage situation, it seems as if Trout is changing his approach and taking singles to extend the inning and get on base. I don't mind this approach (if this really is the case) and I also would bet he improves on this with time.
  18. Fun article released this morning http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/70717/mike-trouts-ridiculous-encore-performance
  19. With as much time as Weaver was on the DL, I agree he should stay fresh the last 2 months. What about CJ with how many pitches he's thrown this year?
  20. With the acquisition of Ted Lilly, there is talk that the Giants are considering a six man rotation to save arms. With Vargas nearing a return, should the Angels consider this by keeping Jerome in the rotation?
