    Sigh...

So that was my go to spot for years.... I've shark dove all over the world. South Africa, Australia, Bahamas, Fuji.

    Guadalupe was my SPOT.

So after years of going there, I finally dropped way too much money on a top tier underwater camera housing, and the best camera you can get for underwater photos.

Then Covid hit, and Guadalupe was shut down.

And then the next year again.

This year we can finally celebrate and get back in the water.

.... and Mexico announced this past January its closed permanently now.

I can't tell you what a f*cking gut punch that is.

I had literally planned to do that trip every year until I die. You can't beat it.

And now I can't ever go back....

yeah that news was terrible.  Though with Mexico things can change.  I’ve seen spots “permanently” closed get re-opened before.  Don’t lose hope.  Guadelupe was a gem

The shirty thing is I can stand on my roof with binoculars and see the stadium.

But I can't watch it on TV with the Ballys app.

I once was roughly 100 miles off the coast of Mexico, diving with Great White sharks for a week. EXTREMELY weak wifi on the boat.

But was able to brokenly get broken updates on the Cleveland / Cubs World Series, the big game.

But again. I can't watch games at home, with 5K internet, that are being played close enough to my house that I hear the fireworks show.

    Guadelupe Island?

I’ve tuna fished there a few times and paid the taxman more than I wanted.  Always wanted to do the cage thing there…

  3. IMO, Trading away someone who is potentially the greatest player of all time for prospects, many of which may never contribute (and we are the Angels so chances are none of them ever contribute lol) is a legacy no one wants.

personally, I know my boys and I would be crushed to see a pop up banner saying the Angels let him go…especially for just prospects.

think of the curse of the Bambino for the Red Sux, the Angels letting Nolan Ryan get away…  this would eclipse that

it’s seriously close to a no win scenario for Arte and Perry:

    1. you trade him, every angels fan hates you more than most already do, and you probably don’t get what anyone would be happy with.  That’s your legacy, no one will ever forgive you.

    2. you keep him, he walks in FA, but at least that’s on him and you tried to keep the unicorn, but your legacy is that you let him slip through your fingers.

only way you’re a winner is if he stays with the Angels next year which seems improbable at this point but not impossible

or win the World Series this year…that might help lol

i mean ohtani isn't blind he can see that the angels have some promise in the near future if we just get one more solid pitcher in the off season or via trade this season !! I think arte will throw away his thoughts on luxury tax if he can somehow retain ohtani and have a true contender !!!

He always said he’d do it for the right player….

mayyyyyyybe Ohtani is the right player?

if not…we know he was lying all along
