  1. I'll be there to watch possibly Ohtani's last start as an Angel!
  2. When everyone sees the same thing it's usually true. Rendon doesn't care about staying on the field. Dude is playing out his contract at this point. I read somewhere he doesn't even like baseball. A guy called Trent Rush last night on the post-game show and asked him, "When Rendon comes back, would you play him? Rush, being the Halo Honk he's entitled to be, said "yes, obviously, not sure why you would even ask that, etc." I'm fine with Rendon staying away from this team indefinitely like he has been 70% of the season.
  3. Warren Spahn. Juan Marichal. Nolan Ryan. Bob Gibson. Sandy Koufax. These guys could throw over 200 pitches in a game. Spahn and Marichal faced off this one time at the ballpark and both threw 16 innings and over 200 pitches. It speaks to incredible mechanics and athleticism that these pitchers were able to do so. All the TJ surgeries these days have nothing to do with pitch count. I don't know what it is, but it's something else. Maybe all the breaking stuff and weird pitching mechanics.
  4. Yeah, he's been hanging out a lot with Renfroe. They eat their own diarrhea together.
  5. Especially a team struggling as bad as the Yankees. They could snap out of it at any point.
  6. It's like one game every series this bullpen absolutely shits the bed and spoils a win.
  7. Agreed. 85 pitches. No reason he shouldn't be able to finish the inning and also come out for the 7th. Developing Silseth as a starter now? Sick, now make him throw 100 pitches.
  8. You're wack. His ERA was in the 6 range. 6 earned in 4.1 innings made it go way up.
  9. Dude, I just want to see an Angel hit 50 HR, let alone 63. It would be so neat.
  10. This homestand needs to go 7-2 or 8-1 to get back in the hunt. Must win today and take the serious from Houston. Sweep New York or Pittsburg and win the series against the other. Then the season would get interesting again.
  11. I could bump my Ward thread but tonight shows once again he's better not in the leadoff spot.
  12. @Stradling Moniak got a hit tonight off the lefty Valdez. I thought he was permanently inept at hitting LHP?
  13. It's funny you say that... KC ended our last playoff run and then won the WS the next year.
  14. This is a cool idea but it wouldn't happen with our casual fanbase. Half of them are there to take selfies. In fact when we play the Yankees coming up half the crowd will be NY fans and I wouldn't be surprised to hear them chant COME TO NEW YORK in Angel Stadium. Yikes!
  15. Is there any chance Schanuel could make it to the big club as soon as September lol imagine that. If he just absolutely tore up whatever league they put him in.
  16. This is the first thing that really stood out to me when just looking at that first month. Wow. 19 games against 3 teams - the way the Angels start next season could depend a lot on how those teams looks next year. O's and Rays have a great chance of being really good again I'd think.
  17. I'm with the AngelsWin Podcast on this one - I'm not hanging my hopes on Brandon Drury. Gio Urshela was a huge loss to this team. That's the guy you know will put the ball in play with a runner on 3rd and 1 out.
  18. That's crazy. Fans of every team in baseball want Ohtani on their team. Why would you not want the best player in the game on your team? I hope he would be open to signing a shorter term contract here like 4yrs/280m or something. Then if he still hasn't fulfilled what he's wanted to as far as winning then he can go somewhere else in 4 years. Also consider how much longer he is going to be able to be a TWP at a high level. I could easily see him dropping pitching in his mid 30's. I guess I have a hot take - I don't think Ohtani actually ends up signing a regular 10yr/5-600m contract. I'm willing to bet there will be teams that will offer him something way shorter term like 4-5yrs/300-350m to make huge AAV in the next 3-4 years and have a chance to get another big one after that. Or the contract could be longer term but he only unlocks a bunch of the millions each year if he still pitches and hits, certain amount of innings, etc. I'm guessing the contract will be pretty unique compared to what we've ever seen.
  19. I've never seen someone ride on the success of literally two months like Taylor Ward has. Bench this clown non-athlete already.
  20. What is being out of the race to you? Like mathematically eliminated? Like need to at least 10 GB in the WC by the end of July?
