Okay Mr. Phil Nevin I'm going to ask you nicely to for once not mess with something that is working.
When Rendon comes back, whenever that is (and honestly, who cares, because the guy clearly doesn't prioritize physical preparation and readiness to stay on the field for this team), we don't need to see him in the cleanup spot anymore.
I don't care that his name is Anthony Rendon, and that he makes a lot of money. I don't care that he's one of our "3 big stars" with Trout and Ohtani. That doesn't mean he needs to stay adjacent in the lineup to either of one of them. I relate this back to when Pujols clogged the cleanup spot in the lineup for years here just because his name so he automatically earns the respect to bat there somehow without the production. /shrug
Rendon going well these days means a lot of singles and walks. Doubles here and there but he generally doesn't give the ball much lift nor hit it down the line often. He's not a cleanup hitter in any MLB lineup.
So yeah, just leave Drury in the cleanup spot that's all. He actually slugs the baseball. Yet, I know it won't happen.
