  1. Just wondering if there are any additional mobile device features we could add to the site? Not sure about anyone else, but I very rarely look at the site from anything other than my cell phone.
  2. It makes me wonder if one day we will see the world that Vonnegut envisioned in "Welcome to the Monkey House"
  3. Ken and John have been all over this on KFI. What great comedy material.
  4. I was reading sections of Ball Four yesterday and Jim Bouton mentions that he would have preferred to see Rocky replace Rigney instead of Phillips. I also remember the big windmill he had in the third base box. RIP Rocky
  5. It isn't just 12 seconds after the pitcher gets the ball. The batter has to be ready in the batters box. I believe that the batter is never in the box before the pitcher gets the ball.
  6. Pats 45 total pts Last team to score = Pats Last first down= Sea Longest run from scrimmage = Sea
  7. In 30 years they will have eliminated the negative side effects of PEDs which will make them acceptable. Every player will look like Barry Bonds.
  8. Year 30 is the update written in 2000, thirty years after the publication. There was a tragedy in the family.
  9. I installed Kindle on my phone a couple of months ago and have enjoyed reading many different books. I searched for baseball books and found "The Glory of Their Times". It is an interesting collection of interviews with players from the 1900s. This led me to searching for one of my favorite Baseball books, "Ball Four" by Jim Bouton. I was happy to see that the updated version was available through Kindle Unlimited. I originally purchased the book at a book fair in HS. The electronic version includes the 10, 20 and 30 year updates on Jim Bouton's life, which I had never read. The 30 year update is extremely emotional. If you have not read "Ball Four" I would recommend checking it out. What is your favorite Baseball book?
  10. I don't want some tin-horn dictator telling me what movie I can see and I certainly don't want some extremist group telling me what I can read in a newspaper. I hope that every newspaper in the world runs the cartoons from Charlie Hebdo to let those responsible know that they have not succeeded.
  11. I received 'Food A Love Story' as a present. I opened it up to a random page and was quickly laughing out loud. It is easy to hear Jim's voice as you read the book. Pick it up if you like food and want a good laugh.
  12. My company did the same thing back in 1989. If you were in the contributory pension you could keep contributing, or you could opt out and take a smaller company only plan. The idea was that you would be able to invest the money you were contributing in a 401K plan. New employees would only get the company plan. They also matched the first 3% that you put in the 401K. I don't think what the Angels did was out of line.
  13. What? No love for PBS? You sure didn't see any Monty Python on those channels!
  14. The Sound had a nice little set earlier including You can leave your hat on.
  15. One of the most unique voices in Rock and Roll. He was able to take covers and really make them his own.
  16. It is only fake if you want it to be fake.
  17. Meh, I saw this weekend's most interesting trailer tonight. The upcoming Sponge Bob Square Pants movie.
  18. I wonder what organization will sign him up as a coach after he hangs ' em up.
  19. Regarding the talent pool back then, most of them had to work regular jobs in the off season? That probably had some effect on the talent that was available.
  20. Interesting story I heard was regarding Mike and the number 9 on his jersey. The team is more important than the individual. Also Adam told about Mike's interview for an accounting job. Thanks to Adam for hosting. I enjoyed getting to talk with everyone including both Erics. Thanks to Strad for the good eats.
