Ha. I still have hair, I just keep it short and clean my friend.
I agree that Jones is too much in the deal. Especially since we only have Iglesias for one year at SS, assuming Fletcher goes back to SS if we can't sign a FA to play the position.
That said we have Barreto and Rengifo as I mentioned and Paris, Jackson coming in a couple years.
I more just don't get giving up anything to get Alex Cobb...Barria is better, Sandoval is at least comparable. Makes no sense.

Chuck...you had hair when Cobb last had under a 3 era. Cmon man. He's not good, there's no defending giving up our #7 prospect to pay a #6 starter 7.5 million.

Ohtani, Stripling, Teheran, Bundy, Heaney, Sandoval, Andreise.
That's a lot of solid pitching. Not high upside pitching (other than Ohtani) but it's a staff that should be able to keep us in games and it's enough depth to withstand some injuries or rest periods for the young guys.
Replace Andreise with Canning and you're onto something

This guy gets it.
Those were one year contracts after the guys actually worth the money wanted to stay back east. Was he supposed to force them to sign?
The stupidity on this board is really something.
Wade Miley and Gio Gonzalez signed one year contracts...hell even the Alvarez for Garcia trade was awful as a lot of us predicted at the time. He's clueless. Keep defending him though and enjoying 4th place.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, three times... well, you get the idea...
I mean if someone can tell me how its going to be any different at all then as opposed to last off season or this deadline im all ears.I mean he did pick Harvey Cahill Stratton and Allen this past offseason to shore up the rotation and closer role so clearly you can be confident he knows what he's doing

No I think they're currently at a disadvantage without Upton and Ohtani. Big injuries have an impact.
Of course they are but a lot of teams have big injuries so far and don't look this incompetent. Ohtani and Upton aren't fixing this offense.

Finally Victor getting a little critical of the spin rate being the be all end all...Gubi completely quiet, he knows who signs his paycheck.

This is going to go down as one of the worst Angels teams in franchise history....95 losses is the record...I can see this team eclipsing that with this starting pitching and nothing in the lineup. Ausmus seems pretty hesitant to mix things up so far so I can see Stratton rolling out there until July and half the lineup hitting under .215 without trying something new.

Can someone explain why Justin Anderson is in AAA?

I don't think anyone is saying he is completely blameless.. It is what it is. We just don't obsess over blaming him. At this point it's up to the players to perform.
My impression was most people are saying he's completely blameless and if the team doesn't do anything this year then maybe possibly they'll consider blaming their lord and savior. You can't expect players who have been pretty below average for most their careers to just start performing. Cozart has been a bad player other than one year, same with Bour, same with La Stella, Harvey and Cahill? Cmon.

So how do we not blame the GM for this...I really don't understand what's going on around here

then you're wrong.
second worst WAR so far of -0.2. 5th worst era, FIP and xFIP. 4th worst k/9. 6th worst hr/9. 2nd highest LD rate.
as bad as you might think the offense is, they're 20th in baseball by WAR and have the lowest BABIP by 20 points. (meaning they're experiencing some horrendous luck).
the offense is going to be fine.
the starting pitching? good luck.
Still don't see how the offense is going to be anything other than average, which isn't "fine" in my book
Eppler brought in 3 guys to be starters this year and they're all awful. Not sure what else he needs to fail at until we all start blaming him at least a little bit for the state of this franchise.

Kole has been on base 4 times tonight. Earlier you asked how he was doing.
And he's still hitting .191

It would be nice if the Angels prioritized winning for a few years while Trout is in his 20’s.

What i hope is adds 1 more assistant with local ties for recruiting and we need to go back to those 3-4 top 100 hs players ala Shipp, Collison, Mata, Hollins, Powell guys who have the talent and will give us years of consistency and depth.
Yeah that'd be my concern, he needs an assistant who can recruit/drop bags in So Cal

Ok so here’s where I point out you said the last two months he was bad. He hit .274 in August and .125 in September. He and the Angels didn’t play in October. So my point of you being mistaken, well is correct. Sorry you don’t like being told “you are mistaken”. Next time I’ll be rude.
Does anyone in your actual life actually like being around you?

what you think of the Cronin hire?
I know you weren't asking me but as someone who follows CBB more obsessively than even the Angels the Cronin hire was such a fantastic move they basically fell into after a disastrous coaching search...UCLA never hurt for talent but they haven't had toughness or discipline and Cronin will sure as hell bring that to the table and get the most out of his recruits. Plus he's incredibly entertaining to watch on the sidelines so that's always fun

No I just think you’re an idiot. Yes discussion is why it exists it doesn’t exist for you to come in once a month, take a shit and leave. So you took your shit, leave. See you next month when you want to be a bitch again.
I just can't quit you, you're the reason I keep coming back for more.

If that's the case, sign me up. But I've seen these types of theories for tons of our subpar signings the last few years and they usually just end up being a subpar signing.
