I'm going to try a new approach to viewing each game rather than just being pissed I'm going to try to get excited about the development of whatever decent young players we have...so far I'm tuning in for Trout, Shoemaker, Bedrosian, Calhoun, and Bandy...Marte is getting close ,still waiting on Cron but he seems like such a oaf I can't see him ever putting it together, I suppose Simmons is still kind of young and could somehow improve offensively. Anyone else I'm missing?

I know Gia is like the last of our worries at this point but how the hell do you hit .278 and still have an OBP below .300

He's the only one with options. The season is over anyhow
Yeah all five of our starters are way to good to move to the bullpen. Especially with something named AJ Achter locking down the long man role.
I know it's over the point is I continue not to understand anything this franchise does with its players
-
Yeah he's the greatest defensive player of our generation

Trop sent to AAA...I just don't believe it, this team almost never makes absolutely idiotic personnel decisions.

That is a slowww man

I'm on team trade everyone not named Trout. I don't believe in the term tank, because in my mind it means the players or the team is trying to lose. Now if you trade and get prospects, and they play to win but fall short that in my mind is different.
Justify it however you want I think this thread just means are you rooting for wins or losses

Was Rey Ordonez the best defensive player of his generation?
No and neither is Simmons. Giants fans would argue he's not even the best SS.

Way to 'no sell' how good of a player Simmons actually is
He's a great defensive player but I don't see any change in the team when he was on the DL versus now. Petit at SS is a minor downgrade and probably an offensive upgrade. I'm beating a dead horse but I just don't understand giving up so much for Rey Ordonez.

This isn't the NBA. Even top overall picks aren't guaranteed stars. Tanking is pointless.
Not if it forces them to sell everyone. It's a different type of tanking.

What are we tanking for? So we can get a really high draft pick and still draft poorly? We certainly won't be getting younger through trades because we have nothing to trade that's going to bring us young talent with upside.
No so we blow up the team and trade for prospects. We haven't some pieces to trade that will at least get us something. If we were stupid enough to give up our two top prospects for a SS who hits .220 then you have to think another team will give up at least a decent prospect for someone like Huston Street or Escobar or...ah shit we do have no one
-
I suppose we will blame the ump for that loss just like the homers/Angels media will blame injuries for this shitty season

I am so hoping that we can trade anyone that can get us any kind of semblance for a younger better future. It's clearly clearly not going to happen this year. Get as many prospects as possible.
Yeah I have never rooted for losses with the Angels like I have in football or basketball for a higher draft pick but at this point I don't see the point of wins...more losses brings us closer to blowing this up and starting over.

Show some damn urgency to locate the baseball Escobar

I mean the pitch was at least close, the fox trax shows it right on the border
Gubi and Victor acting like it's the Doug Eddings play.

Man this is depressing.

No it really isn't. The farm is by far the biggest problem. If we had a good to great farm that was able to produce everyday players then $25 million isn't a huge deal. For me Albert is a year by year problem, because I don't believe he will play out his entire contract. I would also rank the pen a bigger problem or the injuries to our starters.
We have tons of huge problems. It doesn't mean Pujols and his contract aren't one of them. Going to be a long next decade for this franchise.

2 runs. Sac Fly. 2 outs..Hitting 90 consistently now.
Hitting 90? Holy shit we have two Jared Weavers now I thought he was back to 94 or something.

Pujols runs like Vladdy with a dump in his pants.
To be fair it is very likely he's got an adult diaper on at this point

It's just comical at this point. Guy hits one off the wall and can't get to second.
It's worse that he doesn't even know he can't make it to second but tries anyway.
Can you imagine him running the bases five years from now...going to be fun

So who does Lincecum replace when he joins the rotation? Has this been discussed? They're all so up and down he could replace any one of them and he's probably gonna be up and down too. Or do we go with a 6 man rotation of number 4 starters?
Santiago, Weaver, Shoe, Trop, Lincecum, Chacin? I vote move Weaver to the pen.

The Angels broadcast is good but I think they could take it to the next level if they mention Pujols's career stats a little more
Angels GM Billy Eppler says a rebuild is 'not in the DNA here'

Christ on a freaking cracker. I disagree with those of you that say he can't say anything different. Teams rebuild all the freaking time and don't lie about it. This is the same song and dance from the destitute franchise that's quickly becoming one of the worst in all of professional sports.
