It'll be interesting to see if we'll still be able to light the scoreboard up in Pac play. That was an issue with Franklin as OC and running his system. I think we might have a better chance now, but I dunno. Hansen got Pac12 offensive POW. Well deserved. Such a cool story, his is. He's great.

Re: Webb. We are incredibly fortunate that he chose to come to Cal. He's pretty stinking good. Also, I know that people thought very highly of our receivers before, but this new group is probably better. They're fast and BIG. Also, the O line play is much improved since we abandoned the two point stance towards the end of last year. Hansen is bananas good, and the dude is a walk on transfer that NOBODY else even gave the time of day to. From a scheme standpoint, it doesn't seem that we're missing Tony Franklin. Spavital is doing a pretty good job so far. Lots of screens and that might be a problem if teams pick up on them later, but Webb is able to sell fakes really well and seems to be adept at keeping defenses somewhat confused. That defense, though. We'll see how they do. They performed well in the second half (only gave up 10 points), but I think part of that is on the Texas coaching staff. They went away from what was working. Dummies. I'd really like to have do over for the SD State game, just like I'm sure the Longhorns would like a do over for Saturday (and last year).

I completely agree. I understand people being down on Goff at this point, though. I'd like to see some of the malcontents give him some time, but what can you do? Speaking of people having the crap beat out of them, I'm fairly certain that the Longhorns will annihilate the Bears on Saturday.

Yep. It was a total bullcrap and unconscionable no call. The play clearly fit the rulebook and the examples given in the rulebook (hint: one of the examples given in the rule describes exactly that play) for targeting. If they're really going to try and protect players in the sport, they need to call that. It doesn't matter if the refs are scared that 100k or so people in Austin or wherever at the game will be fuming mad that the outcome of the game may be altered. If you commit the penalty and it affects the game, so be it. Refs should call it. They can get a police escort out of the stadium after the game if need be.

Texas is going to roll us. Thank goodness I got to see them lose to us in heartbreaking fashion last year. It was like when we beat the Sox in 2009. Demons were exorcised.

It's going to be a bit of a drive for us, but I think we'll see it tonight.
