AvsBroncosAngels05 reacted to ScottT in Angels open 2023 season in.... Oakland!
Six times in seven years, though this year was postponed. Ridiculous. It's silly that they never get to open the season at home.
2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023
Boston and New York Yankees back to back in April. Weather could be an issue.
Milwaukee and St Louis in April/May.
Sadly, they don't visit Pittsburgh.

Wow. This article really goes back a long ways to describe the dysfunction in this organization. I'm surprised to see Chris Ianetta as the former player quoted in that tweet. I would make a crack about him being a .220 hitting catcher- who if memory served me would hit like 5 homeruns in a week then ground out constantly for 3 weeks. But I would take Ianetta back in his playing days over Stassi right now lol. Maybe he can have a front office job with the new ownership. He hit it on the head though about the starting pitching. This team is always trying to find 1 year stopgaps with the pitching. Trevor Cahill, Syndergaard, Lorenzen, Matt Harvey, Julio Teheran and many other disasters I'm sure I'm forgetting etc.. Even though they missed the playoffs, I actually enjoyed some parts of 2015. it was the last respectable team we had imo. Since 2016 being a fan of this team has been an absolute disaster. Here's to hopefully major- and I mean major changes coming this way.

AvsBroncosAngels05 reacted to CaliAngel in Gameday Thread (8/16/22): Mariners @ Angels - Fletcher back in the lineup, Adell out
I'm thinking no more of a lot of things for this team until their record is over .500
I can't imagine playing for this team and showing up every day and putting on a uniform.
I'd be flipping tables.

Yup and I groaned in disgust when no one claimed him and he went back to Salt Lake. He's the gift that keeps on giving.

Nice challenge Servais, you fuck hole.
Your guy stuck his elbow out there anyway. Fuck I’m hating the Mariners more and more each day

AvsBroncosAngels05 got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Gameday Thread (8/10/22): Angels @ A's - Toussaint starting
It is but that was like 3 or 4 batters in a row that popped out in the same spot which was kind of funny lol. I think even Patrick got a kick out of it. Thankfully Oakland's offense is even worse than ours. This is truly a battle for 4th place today if I've ever seen one.

AvsBroncosAngels05 got a reaction from WeaverFever in Gameday Thread Angels @ M's Game 2 of doubleheader 8/06/2022 Detmers on the mound Fletcher hitting 7th 7:10 P.M. start
Seeing Fletcher hit is making me realize what we missed all year. Having Velasquez or Wade in over Fletcher all year really killed this team.

Nice solid game. And they can't do worse than a split. Hope they keep tormenting Seattle.
Giant ifs ... but, if Fletcher, Trout and Rendon get over their injury jinxes and revert close to form. And if ... Ward and Rengifo stay no worse than they are. And if ... Walsh flushes this lousy season out of his system... And if Ohtani remains Ohtani, then maybe the core of the lineup next year will be respectable.
Still a number of moving parts. And upgradable positions. And a new manager to be named. But if the pitching continues to evolve into next year, the team might be somewhere around .500 and sniffing a wild card spot.
Probably overly optimistic, since the franchise has yearly streaks of bad luck and injuries. But if the pitching holds up they could fly under the radar.

I hate being spoiler but I think Seattle's lead over the 7th team would be just 1 game if the Angels hang on? If the Angels can help push Seattle out of the playoffs that would be a huge victory in my book lol

Gutsy finish by Detmers

AvsBroncosAngels05 got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Gameday Thread: Angels vs. Royals (July 27th, 2022) Junk on the Bump!
Your first sentence is what I'm thinking completely. I'm getting 2013 vibes when the team starting playing really well in September when the season was gone and we got to see young guys get playing time and guys like Kole Calhoun and Matt Shoemaker got looks. Reminds me a lot of it.

I mean not to twist the data in their favor or anything... But the Angels have won 2 of their last 3 games 🤣🤣

AvsBroncosAngels05 reacted to Erstad Grit in Anybody still believe…?
We'd need to win 10 in a row not to be in the WC, but to legitimately be in the conversation.
No.
This team sucks and they're done.

I really enjoyed that entire game, that was well done without Trout. It was like a breath of fresh air.

AvsBroncosAngels05 reacted to Taylor in How bad can it get?!
You just know they'll be competing for a top 5 draft pick, and then will go on a meaningless 15-5 run in September to secure the 10th or 11th pick.

AvsBroncosAngels05 reacted to CaliAngel in Gameday Thread: Angels @ Orioles (July 9th, 2022) 1PM PST
What I can't believe is that asshole Iglesias lost the game for us, again! OH WAIT NO, once again it was a lack of situational hitting and a terrible approach at the plate.
If I'm this embarrassed about watching this team it must be unbearable to show up to that clubhouse day in day out just to spend 5, 6, 7 hours a day with a bunch of losers.
This team sucks ass and there shouldn't be one son of a bitch in that dugout smiling, but then I hear a Trout interview like there's a party in the clubhouse, and that kind of shit doesn't turn things around anytime soon.
I'm most frustrated because nobody on this team seems to want to do anything about being losers, they are a complete embarrasment at this point.

Lol. I probably would be happier if the Angels didn’t exist. The entire organization is made up of losers outside of Ohtani. From top to bottom.

AvsBroncosAngels05 got a reaction from mmc in Six reasons why this is the most disappointing season (for me) since 1995
The 2019 team was my least favorite Angels team in recent memory of mine but this year is catching up. The first month and half were looking promising and I had hopes Minasian knew what he was doing. But right now he looks like a chicken with his head cut and not knowing how to stop the bleeding. Bringing in Jonathan Villar is just a slap in the face. He got released by the Cub and he's a flat out loser. Teams like the Orioles put Villar out there everyday so they could tank for a high draft pick like they did with this piece of shit 3 years ago. If anything thinks he's going to help this shitshow I have some ocean property here in Denver to sell you. I've checked out of this team probably since the Phillies loss a month ago, but I appreciate this board gives me a sympathy group of sorts. I haven't worn any Angels gear in months and I'm just flat out embarrassed by the team right now and don't even have a clue where this goes from here after this nightmare of 2022 ends.
