I forgot about Barria. Sandoval is in the rotation if they go with six.
They are going with 6

I feel Walsh does not make and as a surprise Reid Detmers makes 30 man team. I would also have Adell or even Adams on team. With new rule of starting man at second base would want fastest runner you have. Ward and Walsh add little if any value.

What % of players will choose not to play in 2020? I feel it will be a small percentage like under 3% or less.

He doesn’t make the depth chart this season. He’s going to the farm.
He could surprise and pitch this year.

Where would you put Detmers on depth chart for halo starters?

So whats the scoop on his signing, is there an update? I suppose they haven't planned on having him on the 60 man squad, since it looks like he hasn't signed.
He just signed

He has just signed and is on 60 man squad

With new extra inn rule and Jordyn one fastest in organization he might be on 30 man to start season.

So the roster for this year is the 40-Man plus a 20-man Taxi squad.
The Taxi Squad is non-roster players, so...here's my best guess at the taxi squad.
Jo Adell
Brandon Marsh
Brennan Lund
Jose Rojas
Jose Briceno
Elliot Soto
Arismeny Alcantara
Francisco Arcia
Joe Gatto
Taylor Cole
JC Ramirez
Matt Ball
Jake Thompson
Jose Rodriguez
Neil Ramirez
Parker Markel
Michael Kohn
Holby Milner
Adrian De Horta
Jacob Barnes
Reid Detmers?
Torii Hunter Jr.?
Jordyn Adams?
Jack Kruger?
They could also add major league free agents as a non-roster invite, hitters like Kaleb Cowart, Martin Prado, Scooter Gennett, Russell Martin, Steve Pearce, Lucas Duda, Mark Reynolds, Brian Dozier, Ben Zobrist (Retired), Tim Beckham, Peter Bourjos, Carlos Gonzales, Carlos Gomez, Austin Jackson, Yasiel Puig, Melky Cabrera, Hanley Ramirez, Mark Trumbo. Or Pitchers like: Andrew Cashner, Jason Vargas, Clay Buchholz, Marco Estrada, Clayton Richard, Matt Harvey (lol), Ervin Santana, Sam Dyson, Colin McHugh, Tony Sipp, Zack Duke, Tony Cingriani, Josh Fields, or Addison Reed.
Jordyn Adams on 60 man squad

I think Hubs is very close to getting it right on 60 man roster. We will see Sunday at 1.

Here is the question I have for this type of thread. If the 60 man roster has to be set by Sunday, does that mean we have to get Detmers signed by then in order to use him this year?
No he can still sign after Sunday but to put him on 60 man halos would have to release someone.

Jeff Fletcher has said you can alter your 60 man roster during season but must trade or release someone to do it.

With only 3 practice games before start of season could we see a higher rate of pitchers with arm problems?

Question not asked: if Stassi catches when Ohtani pitches, odds that they DH for Stassi and let Ohtani hit?
I would let Ohtani hit.

If Ohtani is ready and 100% I see no reason why he won't take the ball on opening day 2.0

When it became obvious there was going to be a shorten season at first I was thinking the same. I was in the ‘why bother’ boat.
However, as this has progressed and talking to a few buddies I’ve changed my mind. I’ve always thought 162 was too long. Obviously 60 isn’t the ideal length but it could be interesting from a quality Of play stand point.
Starters knowing they only have about 12 starts, relievers knowing they only have 2 months, everyday players knowing they’re in a sprint for the playoffs might make for the overall quality of play to improve. Pitchers throwing harder, players beating out grounders they typically wouldn’t, etc. Each game is somewhat meaningful with only having 60.
If these games do end up having a playoff-like atmosphere throughout I don’t think it can be viewed much differently or at all. Unless of course the Angels don’t win, then f*ck it.

Feel free to add on and respond, but here are some burning questions that come to mind with regards to the Angels 60-game season.
1. How many of the 60 games will Mike Trout play as his first child is to be born in August.
2. Will Jo Adell without a minor league season available make the team and start in RF?
3. Can our 1st round pick Reid Detmers (when signed) crack the rotation?
4. Since Ohtani has a short season and has already been medically cleared and throwing off the mound, should he be on a pitch and starts per week limit?
5. Griffin Canning has been cleared and throwing off the mound, how much can he contribute? Would it make sense to ease him back as a late inning guy?
6. Do we need a 6-man rotation now?
7. With an initial 29-man roster, which surprises make the team out of the gate?
8. Do you think the Angels will bunt and hit & run more since every game is like a Sunday NFL game? This season is no longer a marathon, but a sprint.
9. Can you see Eppler making any last minute deals before Sunday's deadline?
10. What are some big names that you can see the Angels trading a prospect away for on or by the Aug 31st trade deadline if they're in the thick of things?
I wonder why Detmers has not already been signed, he could be a help in short season. Ohtani 1 start a week, Maddon has already said that and we will have 6 man rotation.

What a beautiful day for a ballgame Let's play 2. Ernie was right I miss the day's of doubleheaders. Only 1 thing better and that's if those games went into extra inn.

I've only popped in here a few times since the suspension of Spring Training in March.
I'd forgotten about Angels 1961's ridiculously dumb posts. I was also going to write to ask some of your opinions about what will happen, but I will do it in a way that does not look like your 90 year old grandpa got on the interwebnet videotypewriter thing.
1) Since the commissioner imposed the season, do players get full service time?
2) DH seems likely. How does that affect competitive nature.
3) What is the roster size? 26?
4) Will there be an All-Star Game?
5) Is there a trade deadline? When?
6) What do you think the schedule will be like? 60 games is a number that doesn't lend itself well to the reported 10 team field x 3.
And Angels specific questions1) How Many Games do you think Ohtani starts? How often does he DH? Can he be both?
2) How Many Games do you think Canning starts? Does Reid Detmers have a chance at a start in the majors?
3) What is our rotation? What does the primary bullpen look like?
4) Who is our second baseman? Is it a straight platoon?
5) LaStella isn't going to play a lot of 1st base, so who does? Thaiss? Pujols? Platoon?
6) Does Adell have a chance to win the starting RF spot?
7) Who hits first? Who hits fourth? Who hits Ninth?
8.1) Will Andrelton rebound?
8.2) Will Upton rebound?
9) Should the Angels sign Puig or another free agent?
10) Do the Angels win the World Series?
What happens when virus hits teams? Will season be cancelled?

Does anyone know where games will be played? Will we have 3 divisions of 10 teams? If a team has 2 or 3 players that test positive will that team shut down? Will Angels and other teams be training in Arizona where it's over 100? How much will Mookie Betts get in off season?
-
The season is lost let's hope they play in 2021.

Albert is helping his fellow countrymen and I admire that. Many players have helped people in need. How much should Artie do or anyone else in time of need, not sure. Maybe Artie and others helped people and it's not made public. I like to look what I've done to help than scale what others do.

This is not a marathon it's going to be a 60 game sprint have players who can contribute. Ward and Walsh will not play have no value off bench. Give me Adell
