Trollzone, go back to the start of the conversation. Angel said the Yanks wanted another sweet glove like Jeter’s. That comparison is absurd, because Jeter was a mediocre fielder whose rep far exceeded his defensive ability.
No one compared their careers,  their hitting ability, or even suggested Simmons is the better overall player. 
So what the heck are you going on about?

I really really don’t want them to trade Bundy.

Yeah I miss Naugels. Had one right up the street on Wood rd. & Van Buren in Orangecrest/Woodcrest growing up.

the actual player/s in return are almost irrelevant.  
the Angels had 27 games worth of value left in La Stella.  Value that helps them do nothing but play out the rest of the season.  
you almost have to think about this like the draft.  get the bpa.  
I am sure Eppler could have gotten a pitcher.  Maybe some guy in A ball with upside at the bottom of a top 30 list that wouldn't be ready till 2023.  Or some guy in AAA who is 25 that might be a #4 but is most likely a 5/swing that ends up as an ok middle reliever.  
 

I doubt the Angels re-sign La Stella. He's going to get, what, somewhere in the $8-10M/yr range? That's money to be spent on pitching.
 

While I want Ps back in trades, I have no problems with this return.  Gives us a super cheap MI option next year.  with letting Simmons go, we’d likely had to spend $5m or more on a depth MI.  Now they don’t have to - thus allowing more money to either a SP or RP option next year instead.  Freeing money next year from Simmons and/or a LaStella type pickup next year is a big bonus.  Plus he’s got upside to turn into more potentially.  

I’d love to have Logan White in the Angels FO. 

Everyone has already seen my idea.
Not all successful GMs came from being GM somewhere else.
Of course, we’ve been frustrated by the previous three GMs hired, two of which had no GM experience and the third (JeDi) had very little actual GM background.
All I know is, my choice built not one but two powerhouse farm systems that brought MLB success ultimately.  Think Stoneman when talking about Logan White, elite strong at scouting and development.
Dave Dombrowski would bring back the JeDi days.   Oh, h_ll no!!!!!!!!

That's my point.  He's continually zigged with his GM hires.  I fear not only a zag this time, but it'll be a hard zag.  Dombrowski would fit the hard zag description.  I just get this feeling it'll be some old, dinosaur GM type.  If that's the case, i'd rather keep Eppler. 
Hopefully my concerns are unwarranted and, if a change is made, we'll hire a very bright GM on the rise....and everything will turn out to be successful. Then again, my Angel cursed mentality feels that even if we go the young up-and-coming route it'll turn into:

The only consolation about the Angels sucking ass is the Red Sox equally sucking ass.

Imagine the comments for Josh Donaldson here.  Age 24 he got 34 ABs and put up a mighty .487 OPS and 32 OPS+.  Age 26, he played 74 games with 274 ABs with .687 OPS and 91 OPS+.  Trade him for anything....bust...not a star...get him out of here...get the pitch forks...etc.  The following year he is 4th in the MVP voting.

It's interesting that the top teams in the AL record wise are Oak and TB (with Minn and CLE following).  Yet big spenders Bosux and LAA and currently the two worse.  Wonder what the other 2-4 teams are doing so well?  Hmmm

Love it - more options since I see us winning too much at the end for no good reason. Like finishing last 15 with a record of 10-5 or so and ending up with a pick around 5-8.

A weighted lottery for non-playoff teams solely for the top pick and then spots 2+ based on records (ala NBA) would be acceptable to me.  Anything more and i'll be pissed.  And i'd seriously lose my shxt if they bring in some low market crap into play here.  I'm out if that happens.
