Imagine the comments for Josh Donaldson here. Age 24 he got 34 ABs and put up a mighty .487 OPS and 32 OPS+. Age 26, he played 74 games with 274 ABs with .687 OPS and 91 OPS+. Trade him for anything....bust...not a star...get him out of here...get the pitch forks...etc. The following year he is 4th in the MVP voting.

The Kumar Rocker/Jack Leiter/Jaden Hill sweepstakes

I was posting in the wrong thread. Great day today for the angels. As you mentioned the pirates sweep....and also the Ms getting one win in their SD double header. We need the bosux to get in a winning streak here soon. -
Epic tank job by Ms in game 1 of their double header today. Blew 4 run lead in bottom half of inning -- 7 runs by Padres in walk-off win. Well played DiPoto. Ms place a 6 spot on Richards in 1st inning of game 2 (Richards lasted 0.2 innings with 6ER -- ouch). I wonder what "Jedi" DiPoto has in store for game 2?

Blue Jays are monitoring multiple Angels players

A weighted lottery for non-playoff teams solely for the top pick and then spots 2+ based on records (ala NBA) would be acceptable to me. Anything more and i'll be pissed. And i'd seriously lose my shxt if they bring in some low market crap into play here. I'm out if that happens. -

OMG if you really think the PTBNL (or cash considerations) is anything significant of value than IDK what to say to you. And bringing up random guys who had no value but later turned things around to be good/great players is meaningless in regards to this trade at this moment. It's like saying Brendan Donnelly was a top setup RP and he came from independence ball at 28-29 years old..so you need to sign all near 30 yr old independence ball players. Just stop with these random outliers. -

when will this monitoring get over with and turn into trading? It's an off day -- fill it up Eppler/Toronto! -

Love it - more options since I see us winning too much at the end for no good reason. Like finishing last 15 with a record of 10-5 or so and ending up with a pick around 5-8. -

Why would we trade the few trade-able assets we have for a SS prospect? We need three things: pitchers, pitchers and hmmm what was the 3rd one....oh yeah, PITCHERS! We have several ML guys who can play SS in place of Simmons in Fletcher and Rengfro. We also have several really good SS prospects in JJ, Paris, Vera...not to mention guys like Soto, Placentia, etc. Heck, I'd be ok getting a catcher at least; but heck no do we need to get a SS back (whether a ML ready guy or prospect). -

Exactly, i think you've road this Angels should have signed TW long enough. He might get traded, but they are getting very little return for 5-6 starts of TW. -

It's backwards the idea of trading Bundy. We need SP and we have a guy who is low priced, pitching fantastic, eating innings and signed for 2021. I think the vets (Trout included) would be very unhappy with such a move. Having said that, trading him to the Braves or Padres for a couple stud young SP prospects is probably the best move for the organization. I just don't believe they can sell it to the team/Arte/fans (more so the team/Arte....everyone knows there are no Angel fans ).

This is a good point. Unfortunately, this is going to be the case for many young guys as well...losing some development time. Then again, i guess from the Angels standpoint and the curse of TJ injuries, maybe it's best to have them pitching less -- get some guys with less wear/tear on their arms/shoulders. Grasping at straws these days at glass-half-full viewpoints as an Angel fan. If indeed we do get a top 5-6 pick, we really need there to be some decent amount of spring College / HS baseball played so scouts can properly evaluate. If we end up in the 10-15 range, it could be a potential benefit to those teams (& back end of 1st round) with good scouting since guys might be available who otherwise would not have if being able to showcase themselves over a full season. They better not F with the draft order. Only thing i'd be cool with would be a lottery for the top pick for the non-playoff teams. I could get behind this for one season due to the hugely unbalanced 2020 schedule. Pirates have won 3 in a row -- keep it up! -

Wrong. The one & only way Trout would get traded is if he personally wanted out and requested a trade. Even then, it's 50/50. But Trout will not do that. Maybe 2-3 years down the road if things continue the way they are right now and his wife wants to move. But they have their roots set down here in OC and want it that way. Things can change as you get later in your career. From the Angels side, there is NO WAY they consider trading him with the no-trade clause and the commitment they have given him as a future HOFer and the best player of his generation. It's not even a thing. Focus your complaining elsewhere because this one is pointless.
