  1. I'd prefer Cesar over Wong. But not enough to care much either way. Either would be relatively good, low cost MI option....leaving more for SP/RP.
  2. Even better that he'd maybe need to get it done sooner rather than later (TJS). I think saw something recently saying it's about 25-50% (at least) of pitchers now who have had or will have TJS. It's not necessarily a bad thing anymore draft wise.
  3. usually yes. but these remaining ones are same-day mail-in ones and with R leaning groups. That's why Trump is mad AZ has been called by Fox. There is a potential...as unlikely as it may seem.
  4. NV won't flip. AZ is the more likelier flip. Flip AZ and keep those three and he wins. Unlikely, but that's his only path.
  5. I'd be more concerned with they had 1-2 guys only looked at. Clearly they need new ideas and to figure things out. So casting a wide net and seeing what pieces could fit, best ideas for building organization, etc. is a positive one it seems.
  6. $14M to Semien for 2021 would be a huge waste of resources. I also think this is going to be one year where the FA actual contracts look way less than predicted -- versus the other way around annually. One word: Co-lose-young.
  7. I wish they did go cheap that draft -- Yelich and Syndergaard sitting right there for them to take and pay them way less. Imagine the fortunes of this franchise if they selected those two instead? Both went right after / near their picks. Others down the line like Simmons, Realmito, etc. But Yelich & Noah we're absolutely realistic picks.
  8. If he's still there at the Angels waiver spot, they better be all over the claim. It's a no-brainer. Which means someone before them will do so (at worst to flip him at some point).
  9. Good lord...so many things wrong about this. On the plus side, it'll make whomever we hire as our GM not seem so bad.
  10. Wait, FA starts this weekend and we have no GM.....and nobody close to be hired either. That's awesome!
  11. It's a moot-point now since they won game 6, but it would be really interesting what today would be for game 7 had the Rays came back to win that game. How many LADs have either been infected by Turner (before/during game 6) and/or need to sit out quarantining under the MLB CV rules. That would have been funny to see how MLB and Manfred would handle that debacle.
  12. honestly, it sounds a bit whiney and reeks of jealousy those trying to put down whomever wins this title. If it were the Angels, the fanbases would be totally on the other side railing against those diminishing the title. I honestly don't care. They have earned it and are the example everyone wants to be. They are not winning it via buying a title or anything. Anyway, hats off to them if they win. I personally care more about the Angels getting their house in order and becoming a contender rather than living thru the defeats of others -- except the Bosux (hate them).
  13. If i'm the Angels GM, i'm not spending any significant money on a MI. I'm stilling back and waiting for the value at the end of the FA market to pickup a depth piece -- maybe even one that can start. But purely value FA pickup...1-2 years.
  14. I seriously might give up baseball for good if a cheating, under .500 Astros team wins the title this year.
  15. Idk why, but I still think the LADs come back to win this series.
  16. I'll just stay angry until a GM hiring actually occurs -- it's easier and much more fun.
  17. I heard Manfred is expanding the playoffs for the 2020 Winter Meetings as well. That should make it a bit easier for Arte in winning this year's Winter Meetings.
  18. LOL sorry Chuck -- guess the wink wasn't sufficient. A little 'Carnac the Magnificent' humor.
  19. Who are MLB players that won't be members of the 2021 LA Angels?
