  1. I’m not sure I’m buying what those articles are selling. It just doesn’t make any sense logically to me. Sure inside and close is the worst for spreading. But outside and super close is bad on its own too. The argument that the protests kept non-protesters at home and isolated- thus keeping the spread low is just ridiculous agenda speak. It’s like saying I cheated on you because I love you so much (that doesn’t work). You can be pro anti-racism and still see that there’s a problem and negative consequence to the close gather protest. It’s not either/or.
  2. Posey opts out. That’s big. Has twin adopted daughters born premature. Selfishly (which i don't blame him at all), it makes perfect sense for him to do: rich, team has ZERO chance to win, at end of career, has won two rings, getting paid small percentage of salary for this season, etc.
  3. Actually, there was protesters in the EU. Not as much as in the US, but there was and it still is going on.
  4. No offensive De Horta (i'm sure you're a wonderful person), but i hope we don't see you pitch this year for the LA Angels.
  5. Yeah, i probably didn't word that very well. I meant you need to have the guy be on both the 26-30 game day roster...as well as be part of the 60 player pool. The 60 player pool is easier obviously and you could use such a specialist in that group. It's the gameday roster that would be more difficult. But maybe it's possible this year since i supposed (?) it's easier to move guys back & forth amongst that. IDK, i haven't looked into what the rules are for moving guys on/off the game day roster from the 60 man for this 2020 season.
  6. Hmm, yeah it is an odd one. His OF throws do not appear to show a great arm. Looks like he's barely making it to the mound from the OF. But hard to tell. I guess he'd has to be able to throw 60+ feet as a P (lol). It got me thinking, with a larger game day roster and the cost just $20K to sign a guy, you could find a super fast college stolen base expert (if there were such a guy) to sit on the bench waiting for the perfect late game situation. That might be a valuable weapon -- if you had the extra roster spot available. Or even a guy who is the best bunter available. But again, that's only if you had expanded rosters and can afford an extra spot on the bench / 60 man. I'm guessing not. But just spit-balling.
  7. "On the Road" -- I can still remember reading that as a 21 yr old roadie on a western states music tour. Still to this day my favorite book of all-time. Perfect book for me at that time in my life. Hopefully Teheran treats his body better than I did at that time....lol, Good times
  8. lol OK, guy. Obviously you can't read. You also are not very educated either ("retarded" -- really dude, really?...be better than that). I said i agreed with the post. I then mention that i see people (not Patty).....I even at the end (which you so carefully didn't include) again how i was not talking about Patty's post (quoting myself: "I'm not saying you specifically are saying this at all -- i just see this comment all over the place by people and it makes me SMH".). I'm not sure why you care so much. But i wasn't saying anything about Patty....except for AGREEING with it lol. Nice fake outrage.
  9. Except i actually explained in said post exactly why i was making my comment. I even said that the person i quoted had nothing to do with my comment and was not an aim of such. So nice try tough guy/girl. Is there some kind of daily quota of attacking posters that i'm not aware of? Or is there some personal nerve i accidentally hit that pushed you too far? Either way, continue to fire away at me -- I can handle it (that way future others who can't don't get the brunt of your made-up internet anger smh). Also, Is there also a rule on AngelsWin for not commenting on anything except for the OG post. Sorry to have failed this rule. I'm so embarrassed to be the one and only person to have done so. Reading this site for many years, it's been such a pleasure never seeing that ever happen ever. The only site ever to never have a topic move even slightly off rails in any direction whatsoever. Imagine that John Lennon.
  10. i agree with most here that Trout needs to bat 2nd. Get that trout/Ohtani/Rendon threesome up as soon as possible. Wow, i've forgotten what a great hitter Rendon is and the excitement of adding him to the lineup. If Upton were to have a bounce back year, even just a bit, daaaaang. Sure the P is an issue, but at least the games will be exciting.
  11. You are 100% correct with this comment. I was wrong to say AngelsWin in general. There are many on here who are smart and good people. I really meant people in general on the internet itself. But really, i should have narrowed to a specific person like you. I didn't have an opinion that I was trying to get anyone to agree with me on. I'm not that small of a person. But when someone tries to quote me incorrectly and infer something erroneously, then i'm going to point it out. Obviously, again, it shows how difficult basic reading and comprehension can be for some people in this world.
  12. So typical. "blatantly idiotic" and throw me in that another poster who is not well liked -- nice guy, well done. I don't think you even know what my comment was. It's simply that the rich guys can afford to not play...versus those that need the money/job to survive and provide for their families. There is no denying that....if you do, then you simply want to argue for argue's sake. Get over yourself. Oh by the way, the Zimmerman opt out was not that simple. Many people have wives, kids family members, etc. that are high risk. But they HAVE to work. I do with my wife (among others in my family). Countless people i know have the same -- yet they have to work and they try to keep distance. As for Zimmerman, he originally planned to be away from his wife/kids during the season until it was over. But ultimately he decided to just not play (opt out / retire). If he was a rookie or young player not making much money, it would be a much different story and i'd suspect (like many other players falling under that financial scenario), he'd be playing and away from his family for the few months during the season. “I have a 3-week-old baby,” Zimmerman said. “My mother has multiple sclerosis and is super high-risk; if I end up playing, I can pretty much throw out the idea of seeing her until weeks after the season is over. There’s a lot of factors that I and others have to consider. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer; it’s everybody’s individual choice.”
  13. Again, lack of reading comprehension. I said “they are not worried about their life” - not health. Two very different things. Everyone worries about health. Heck I worry about what stress at work does for my health. That doesn’t mean I opt out of my job/work - I have to pay the bills. But if it were life, then that’s a whole different story.
  14. Lol you basically agreed with me. Except acknowledging money, and not needing it, is a major/main factor. I’m not sure what your response meant. They don’t need the money - so they consider all other items and determine it’s not worth it to them. Good for them imo. Many people don’t have that luxury.
  15. Price, Zimmerman, leave, etc. are not opting out because they are seriously worried about their life or their families life. They have the best health care available to them and many things most people don’t. They are opting out because they don’t need the money and it’s just not worth it them all things being considered. Mainly it’s money - they don’t need it. It’s that simple.
  16. Should have realized it’s AngelsWin and many people can’t read - they just want to jump to their on agenda. I never said ALL players. I said super rich ones. Again, reading comprehension is difficult I know. Anyway, being rich simply allows them the opportunity to opt out. Doesn’t mean they will - but it’s an option. And several have taken it. Most people have no such option and are forced to do as required to get that paycheck. Trout has that option and he’s set for 10 lifetimes - most guys don’t and need to work even though wife is pregnant. No problems with that - just the facts. btw, I have several super rich friends. They are not flaunting their riches. But they have no need right now to work 40+ hours a week like most of us.
  17. I'm sorry, but that's just not true. Super rich athletes are NOT going to target and vons. They have people to do that. They have personal chefs, etc. But regardless, even if they did do that -- it's required to surive (food, etc.). Working and that paycheck is not required in 2020 for guys like David Price, Felix, Zimmerman, Desmond, Leake, etc. Plus, that paycheck in 2020 is way smaller so the idea of working (when it's not financially needed) is much less desirable. For some of these rich guys, it comes down to personal desire to win and compete. Some though have valid family issues. I have staff that must work from home due to family health issues. Some others at my company have staff that also have such issues, but they can't do their job remotely from home -- so they either must come in or are on unpaid leave after using up all vacation/sick time. Finances determine which of those two options they pick.
  18. I agree with your post. However, i see people compare athletes to regular people saying that the average joe is working (hospital, target, market, construction, etc.) so why are players saying they don't feel safe and maybe not playing. The HUGE difference is the average Jo/Jane has to go to work to pay the monthly bills and put food on the table. These athletes are freaking rich -- they are not like everyone else. They can afford to sit at home and not work for a year or two. If i were a millionaire (multi-millionaire really), i'd probably stay at home and not care a dang about my job/company. But i don't have a choice and neither do most Americans....professional athletes do. Total apple/oranges comparison. I'm not saying you specifically are saying this at all -- i just see this comment all over the place by people and it makes me SMH.
  19. Exactly. Like what from the past couple months of the owners/MLBPA negotiations fiasco, communication embarrassments and overall current contempt for both sides right gives any sane person the mindset that they can work together and fix anything. I wouldn't bet on them working together to set a freaking the clock or putting together a 10 piece puzzle at this point in time.
  20. Not a good start to say the least. I might be watching Hallmark movies with the wife this summer/fall rather than sports -- Noooooooooooooo
  21. Anyone who opted out definitely should NOT be paid. But opting out should be a viable option to each player and coach.
  22. I mentioned this before - and here it is. This is going to be a thing. Btw I support him 100% whatever he ends up doing. At the end of your time on earth, it’ll be the missed birth and that time that matters....not the potential 2020 season results. plus let’s be honest - Angels are not winning a chip this year.
