I think most everyone is ready to DFA Suarez.
We’ll see if the guy who makes that decision agrees.

That is two games in a row that Sano made a great play at third. If he can keep that up and get that bat going, Rendon can take all the time he needs. Eternity comes to mind.

How is that trolling?
It’s true.

I 100% agree with this and it still bums me out that we didn't trade him ahead of last season or at the very least the trade deadline.
Heard that the Dodgers were offering Michael Busch and Pepiot at the deadline. Huge swing and miss by
Perryand Arte. That’s on Arte, not Perry.

I thought he should have gone with Fulmer hoping he could pitch the rest of the game or at least 2 innings.
But here's the question: Is Hicks worth a roster spot, or would you prefer using his spot for another bullpen arm, especially since we already have 4 outfielders?
Both Suarez and Hicks are just wasting roster spots.
You can’t carry more than 13 pitchers.

It’s possibly because no proven FO people want to work for Moreno.
And because he doesn’t want to pay those people commensurate with the position/their experience.

Gonna be fascinating to see Wash’s post-game presser, if Bally shows it.
Interested to hear how he answers the Suarez question.

I was really hoping that Wash took one of those "guns" they use to euthanize cattle out to the mound with him when he went to hook Suarez.

If Jose Suarez isn’t DFAd after the game, Arte should fire Perry.

Well, if he grew up an Angels fan then he knows the organization and that means he will pitch for the Yankees or Boston, maybe even the Braves but he will steer clear of Anaheim.
Perhaps.
But the team was good when he grew up watching them.
He was 8 in 2002.
Players who watched the Angels as a kid within the last decade are the ones who’ll be more likely to steer clear.

He's hitting .115/.217/.154 with 27 K in 61 PA. He's been flat-out terrible every year since they drafted him. He didn't really deserve to be in AAA based on his performance. I'm guessing they just sent him there to see what would happen. If he doesn't turn it around at Inland Empire, I imagine he'll be out of the system before the end of the year.
He probably got sent there because Evan White (plus others) were hurt and they needed a body.
I agree; the IE stint seems like a last chance to get things together or you’re gone.

Never seen a demotion this bad before:

And there’s the answer for why Drury or Thaiss didn’t hit for Adrianza, as they wouldn’t have anyone to play 2B if they went to extras (since Rengifo pinch hit for Neto)
Thank you, Jeff.

Why tf do people here think Burnes would sign with the Angels?
Because he grew up an Angels fan and the Angels have the ability to offer him the most money.

He could, but then you're really going to tell Adell to stand still on top of the bag and wait? I'm not saying he shouldn't have, only that I suspect Wash isnt the type who's going to tell a young player to take a play off. This added consideration also decreases the perceived value of the bunt, imo.
Reasonable and well-thought analysis.
Thank you.

Well obviously. Is that up for debate? I think the only question is if you want to pinch hit during an 0-1 count.
That part seems to be up for debate.
I say yes, but some others on here said no.

One side with numbers from 2010-2015 which said they were right. One side with numbers from like 1940 to present which said they were right. Everyone was wrong, Ehire Adrianza is an automatic out and none of the probabilities would have mattered.
Which is why Drury or Thaiss should’ve hit for Adrianza in that spot.

At the cost of Adell, it’s impossible to understand.
Again, I admit I was wrong about the Adell thing.
His offense has been great lately.
At the time, in my opinion, Rengifo’s defense was unplayable and something had to be done.

I suspect Washington does not really want to bunt. Most managers are generally against bunting these days anyway. Once Adell steals third it decreased the perceived value of the bunt, as the results of the play will hinge on Adell's baserunning ability and thus Washington took it off.
I’m not sure the results hinge on Adell’s baserunning since he could just stay put at third.
Maybe it is an issue of perceived value though.

Anytime you can get a 34 year old 80 OPS+ bat with a 0.6 WAR in 600+ games, you have to consider.
You have to consider it when the GM builds no depth, Drury was hurt, and your second basemen was making at least one misplay every game that was costing them runs.

My favorite part of him wanting Ehire promoted to the bigs was to release Adell to do so. And he gets upset when we have differing opinions when that’s an opinion he had.
I wanted him promoted while Drury was hurt so that they wouldn’t have to keep sticking Rengifo out there while he made at least one misplay a game.
Is it that hard for you to understand?
Why isn't Jo Adell getting more playing time?

I you want to blame Perry, there’s plenty of things to blame him for.
Blaming him for not trading a generational player when ownership prevented it is not one of those things.
