This one is actually really interesting.

Perry has shipped off a lot of AAAA young relievers with team control, and although Hoby Milner somehow ended up turning into maybe the best LH reliever in the league last year, not many of the others have really turned into anything we're really missing out on. Packy Naughton, Oliver Ortega, and Austin Warren would be the main guys I'm thinking of.

Peguero has been pretty good with Milwaukee

Make contact,” Washington said. “He’s not making contact. Use the whole field. Be Mickey. Not that Mickey that hit 14 home runs and thinks he’s a home run hitter. The Mickey who, when he got drafted, he was putting the ball all over the place. And then occasionally he’ll catch a home run.”

Except he is making more contact… it’s the batted ball metrics that are the problem now.

Making more contact isn’t gonna fix his 83 mph EV.

So much for Kristofak's feel-good story!

thanks for your heartwarming story, zac. now hit the road.

    #ouch

Kristofak making it to the majors and pitching in a game was a great story.

But if we go strictly by results/stuff, he didn’t really deserve a call-up. He got called up because the pen was taxed and they didn’t have any other options available to get a fresh arm that could provide length.

So I think him making it to the majors, playing a game, and getting DFAd is a lot better than the alternative of potentially never making it to the majors.

There's a hundred things to look at here, but I just can't stand Estevez. He's been bad since the All Star Break, but he acts like he's a dominant closer. His quotes are just outlandish. I actually went back and looked at some Rockies ones from blown saves. It's always, "Look, Ok, it happens. Guys get lucky. Tomorrow's a new day. I am full of confidence."

He has no confidence. I watched this guy end our season on a grand slam last year to a guy that is currently struggling in AAA. Quote? "It's tough, but we got a lot more games." And still, it's always excuses. The Rays blown save? "It's unfortunate we lost on a weak grounder." Giants? "Honestly I feel good. Felt really good."

Tonight? Castellanos "Cheated fastball...he's really strong...and unfortunately it went out." Rojas, he of the 3 career HR? "It happens...hopefully next time I'll go out with the same mentality."

The arrogance and ignorance just bugs me. You have an ERA over 7.00. As a closer. Have some pride and acknowledge letting Anderson, Rengifo, and your entire team down.

    Totally agree.

And they act like they’re innocent victims of Castellanos cheating fastball… you throw the pitch over 65% of the time.

Totally irrelevant. Dombrowski was  never going to come here. He wanted full authority.  Something Arte would never provide.

    Yep.

And at the time, Dombrowski was more than content in Nashville.

Middleton had to convince (practically beg) Dombrowski to leave Nashville and go to Philly.

I’m sure Middleton made some assurances that Arte was never going to.

This july will be his 5th draft. Currently, all but AA are in last place in their divisions. AA is in next to last place. And the Angels are about to drop to last place. Aside from a half dozen guys in the minors, there isn't much talent. Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make it till the end of the season.

I think he'll make it to the end of the season at least, simply because they don't have an obvious interim GM candidate.

They remain the only team in MLB without an assistant GM, who would be the natural candidate for interim GM.

The annoying thing is that he caused his own injury by not running to first base properly.
As he ran down to first, he didn't allow his body to flow in one motion.  He jolted himself just before touching the base, which caused his injury.  Had he not pulled up short of the bag there, and just kept on running in one smooth motion, he wouldn't have gotten hurt on that play.  It's just like Gio Urshela did last year when he jolted his own leg into the ground, rather than continuing a fluid motion.

Maybe they should hire you to teach baserunning
