  1. Finally, they both get it done today in driving in all of the runs. But Josh, about that being on pace for 300 Ks? The good news is that there are likely only 3 other cold weather game all regular season, at Minnesota on April 15-17.
  2. What OregonLAA said. I've always been a praise and vent guy myself, and I can see how seeing nothing but 100% vent or 100% pollyanna could get on people's nerves eventually. Life is, after all, about balance.
  3. Seems to reason that if the first 9 are very difficult, that things get easier after that. Just find a way to go no worse than 4-5 in those first 9 games, and then take off from there. Would be nice to be a few games over .500 in April for a change, instead of the seemingly usual under .500.
  4. That 20 inning 1-0 game was crazy. Rudy May actually outpitched the eventual Cy Young winner, Vida Blue. Rudy May was one that drove Halos fans crazy. He could have ace stuff one outing, and then #4 stuff the next. He eventually became more consistent, once he got to pitching for the Skanks later on in the 70s.
  5. Just hoping that if Hanson does get DL'd, the rotation can eventually be Weaver, Wilson, Richards, Vargas, and Blanton. Richards is impressing in ST and the opening series, but I am still a little leery of how he would do pitching 6-7 innings every 5th day. If he pitches like he has so far in 2013, and then can do it as a starter, that is at worse #3 stuff.
  6. The Reds are a good team, but that seems really extensive (10 K's/game factoring in game 1 being 1.5 games).
  7. Blanton actually did decently against the lefties in the Reds' lineup, aside from a Choo leadoff HR. It was the righties who hammered him.
  8. Blanton could well have a sub 4.00 ERA in Angel Stadium. It's the road starts in places like Arlington, Camden Yards, new Skankee Stadium, skanky, decrepit Fenway Park, U.S. Cellular Field, et al that worry me when he's on the mound. Today seemed to indicate that, as Great American is a HR park. Based on the past, and 2013 projections, the road ERA for the 3-4-5 starters could potentially get a little ugly.
  9. We don't have to face Arodis Chapman again in the 2013 regular season.
  10. Bullpen = 12.1 innings, 3 hits, 1 run MUCH better than a year ago
  11. Which is why Vince Russo is garbage. He's the WWE guy who approved of Owen Hart's harness that carried him down from the rafters on the day that he fell to his death. Apparently, Russo never really tested the harness, and wanted it to be easy for Owen Hart to get out of. What? How about focusing on getting him down to the ring SAFELY?
  12. Look at it this way Tejas, an umpire didn't cost Darvish a perfect game. Yet again, just a little bit short. Maybe some Gulf gasoline will put the oomph back?
  13. Okay, who voted yes? It absolutely sucked when Kenny Rogers did it to us in 1994.
  14. Brandon Sisk being able to rally from TJ surgery to be a solid replacement for Downs eventually a year or so from now, would be the frosting on top of Santana's gopher ball adventures no longer being here.
  15. Utah will have the tiebreaker at the end of the regular season, thanks to winning the season series 2-1. Lakers HAVE to win one more game than Utah over the remaining 7 games for both teams. Lakers have one more home game remaining than Utah has (5 vs. 4).
  16. Figured that I would start this thread, for the LB State alums/fans on here. Bad close to basketball season (2-5 record including disgraceful 112-66 loss to Baylor in NIT) = THREE spring commits verbaling to LB State in the past week or so, even though only 1 scholarship player was a senior (James Ennis). Sounds like Dan Monson was pissed at the 2-5 record AND Baylor embarrassment to end the season, so much so that two returning players were asked to not return? Commits are 2 juco players, both top 100 in JucoJunction's list of top national sophs, 6-7, 215 lb. post player David Samuels (currently at a Texas juco) and 6-3, 220 lb. SG A.J. Spencer (Hutchinson JC in Kansas); and 1 prep player, 6-6, 195 lb. wing Donovan Hastings (4 years of HS ball in Canada and an extra year at a prep school in SoCal).
  17. Even though she's made up kind of plain looking, Rashida Jones makes Parks and Rec very watchable.
  18. Rooting for the Skanks and the Red Sux to BOTH miss the post-season this time! Last time that happened was, iirc, 1993.
  19. WTF! Andrus isn't really much more valued than Aybar, other than being 4 years younger and not as mercurial. Both have had a similar career OPS. Aybar has a better SB% so far. Both are excellent defensively.
  20. What Tank said. Have carpool lanes done anything like what they were intended to do?
  21. Happy belated B-Day, Brian. May you have many more years of dance moves around the grill.
  22. I admit I was a Friends fan. But as it usually does, getting two people together and married cuts into the appeal of a show eventually. Granted that wasn't nearly as bad for Friends, as it was for Mork and Mindy. No doubt though, M.A.S.H.......greatest ever! Followed by the MTM Show, then Happy Days, then Seinfeld, and then Friends.
  23. Shuck truly was Willits Jr. in 2011 for the Strohs. 81 at bats, THREE XBHs (0 HRs of course) and THREE rbis, along with 11 BBs.
  24. Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart actually went to LB St. for a year in the late 70s after transferring from UCLA where he was a standout shot putter. Heenen and the late Gorilla Monsoon was the best announcing team without a doubt. Some of their stuff had me ROTFLMFAO. Gorilla would always say "Give me a break." or "Will you stop?" to Heenan. Pure gold Not surprisingly, the two of them were very close friends away from the cameras. Heenan had to step aside from his WCW announcing booth job the day it was announced that Gorilla had passed away. Piper, Heenan, Savage, Jake Roberts, and Paul Heyman were the best interviews normally. More pure gold, one of the trainers who works with the users at the company I work for once had Scott Hall follow her around a casino in LV (back around 2002).
