Any guarantee Gray pans out? Kinda weird he has 0.75 ERA better at Coors than away. -
Ever heard of a player being day-to-day? Sitting him the day before a start keeps him from missing the start because of something minor. Even on things that wouldn’t cause him to miss a start, it lets him be the most effective he can when he starts.

He said don’t just make idiotic assertions.

It shows that Arte understands the concept of sunk cost. -

Arte paid Hamilton $63 million to go away. -
We paid $63 million for Hamilton to play for other teams, so there is precedent for the Angels letting a big chunk of money not contribute.
-
We nearly paid that for Hamilton to play for a different team.

Free Agent Faceoff: Wood Vs. Walker
Drink More Yakult replied to Chuck's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
I think it makes sense to get one of the two, especially if we are going to save Ohtani for a month or two to give him more meaningful innings. That would open a spot in the rotation and let us see if Wood or Walker start to pan out. -

Lol at using Eovaldi against Eppler. That contract is a point in Eppler’s favor and evidence that it’s probably not smart to drop a huge amount on non elite pitchers. Wheeler was offered more money by the White Sox so it would have taken more than 120, and taken us out on Cole most likely. Wheeler is probably regretting signing so early, he’d get 5/150 if he waited until after Strasburg and Cole. But yeah, Corbin was a definite miss in hindsight. -

Howie hit .344 last season and was 15 points higher than anyone in the NL with at least 370 PA (9 points higher than anyone in the AL). I know it isn’t a batting title but I think it’s close enough for people who once said “future batting champ” to now say “told you so.” -

The user bats for the other team, like how the Angels’ pitchers last season pitched for the other team. -

So we had a promising young Ace on the roster and now it’s Eppler’s fault he got TJ and we have to start from scratch? -

Glad to see you completely missed the point. 2014 had nothing to build on besides Trout. -

In 2014, we had the worst farm system in the league, a lineup featuring Hamilton, Freese, Pujols, and Ianetta, and a rotation with a guy who throws 75 now, two guys that got TJ within the past two years, a guy who races cars now, and a guy who died. We were in play for a wild card spot last season after the all star break. Our best pitcher died and one of our two all-stars broke his leg. If our pitching is as dog shit as every says it is, the only way we’d fix it in FA would have been dropping $70-75 million a year of Wheeler and Cole. If our pitchers don’t step up next season, we are DOA anyway. Teheran and Bundy would have been our two best pitchers last season if you only count half their innings from last season. Our bullpen was pretty good until they got overworked. We are adding 250-300 IP from starters so that’s going to make the bullpen better. You’d only be happy if we signed Hamilton or traded for Wells again. -

Good thing Calloway isn’t manager. Happ is an older, more expensive #4. -
The Brewers. That one game they win is the wild card game because there isn’t a 3 run error in right. Strasburg doesn’t opt out and completely reset the pitching market. Astros win the WS so Cole doesn’t care about winning as much. The Angels sign Cole for 7/$245

Trumbo spent the past two seasons on the DL because he hurt his knee. When are you going to change your name to Rend0n6? -

I think Brandon Wood should get called up soon to handle the hot corner. -
Bundy was through a trade.

I think Shohei might be racist against Koreans. It’s worth not signing Ryu so we don’t alienate Shohei.
