Or, go over the tax threshold for one year, and then $24 million frees up.

Fresh off of Rendon Arte just bought a stadium, gave to POTUS and most likely didn’t make any money this season. New CBA too he’s most likely to pinch this offseason.

I've wondered about that too....just not sure, after all the loses every team is experiencing this year, that Arte is going to spend big this winter....maybe not until Pujols and Upton are both off the books in 2 years....

Yeah I think you’re right. Also with a new CBA pending it might not be a good year for free agents either.

He’s only going to sign here if he truly wants to be here. We could offer the most money and I don’t think it will persuade him.

It’s gonna come down to him wanting to play for Maddon, reuniting with Callaway, to play with Trout, playing in SoCal, and a lot of money. Not saying it won’t happen but it feels like a lot has to go right. The Dodgers or Padres arguably can offer everything we can.

One of our biggest issues is how much we have left to spend. I think this type of signing will have to wait until Pujols is off the books.

I find it funny that he will now consider a multi year free agent deal, but then says another ridiculous thing in wanting to be part of a 4 man rotation.  That doesn’t happen in a bubble, it requires 3 more guys that can do it and the 3-5 other pitchers that will be ready to go when there are injuries.

I think he would be fine with a 5 man rotation for the right contract on a team that has a propensity to win a lot of games. He’s going to make a lot of money.

  5. Mitch is such a double talking jackass.

2016...Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate should not confirm a replacement for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia until after the 2016 election — an historic rebuke of President Obama’s authority and an extraordinary challenge to the practice of considering each nominee on his or her individual merits.

The swiftness of McConnell’s statement — coming about an hour after Scalia’s death in Texas had been confirmed — stunned White House officials who had expected the Kentucky Republican to block their nominee with every tool at his disposal, but didn't imagine the combative GOP leader would issue an instant, categorical rejection of anyone Obama chose to nominate.

The White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, on Wednesday refused to say which administration officials were working on a healthcare plan that President Donald Trump has long promised to unveil and recently said was "all ready."

During the White House press briefing, CNN's Kaitlan Collins pointed out that three top healthcare officials in the Trump administration had said during testimony before a Senate committeethat they were unaware of Trump's Obamacare replacement plan.

"Today on Capitol Hill, the three top medical experts in this administration said they have no idea of any kind of plan that's being formulated," Collins said. "So who is it that is working on the healthcare plan that's going to be introduced before the election?"

McEnany responded that "a wide array" of White House officials and "multiple stakeholders," including the Domestic Policy Council, were working on the plan.

Dear God just about everyone was saying Walsh sucks until he hot hot!

My point on Adell is that we should be patient just because Walsh proved a small sample size does not predict outcome of entire career.

The only real thing that Walsh needed was consistent playing time. 1B and DH has always been kinda crowded the past few seasons. Adell is here but he really shouldn’t be. He’s 2-3 years away from being really good.

    Or not.

Just a month ago Jared Walsh career stats was .163 BA with 1 HR.

    Now he is a god!

We need to remember that before we "give up on people"

Walsh is also 27 years old coming off a great AAA season. Adell might not be the guy we expect him to be until at least 2023 or longer.

Adell would be in Triple-A this season until he proved that he was ready for the majors. If he didn't prove that this season then he would've stayed at Triple-A all year with maybe a September call-up. He had a K-rate of 33% in Triple-A last season and got by on his tools. That's a huge red flag of someone not ready to face major league pitching. It is not surprising to see why he's struggled (40% K-rate this season) so much this season.

He’s actually a very good AA player that’s being rushed along.
