  1. Oh you know Ausmus and the front office will find a way to keep playing Pujols, Bour and Ohtani...
  2. Coming off a tight groin issue with a big lead in the 8th the best thing to do is get Trout off the bases since there’s no need to push him that hard. just making sure he stays fresh. No injury at all. He will be in CF tomorrow.
  3. I know us Southern Californian’s like to show up to the Ducks and Angels game late, but the attendance at the Angels game tonight is pathetic. I was at the home opener and it was also a desert. The start of the game is usually a bit more empty but the stadium looks naked tonight. Embarrassing.
  4. Watch us trade our bullpen at the deadline.... facepalm
  5. Because we have no lefties in the pen that's why. That's the only reason why....
  6. I could see a possible Thaiss 3B and Ward at 1B when both are ready to pop in MLB. Both have potential to be average bats and Ward has been terrible at 3B. Throw Rojas in the mix as a backup.
  7. I just wish his numbers get higher so teams would be calling on him come deadline time.
  8. Simmons is better off as a leadoff more than Calhoun will ever be.
  9. No such thing as “time” in the pros. That one game where we might say “ehh he’ll turn it around” could have been someone else’s chance to step up and perform. That one game a player blew for us could be us at the end of the season saying “damn we were one game out of that final Wild Card spot”. So no, willing to wait happens in Spring Training when players are figuring it out again. The 162 games happening right now is when they either get it right or sit on the bench.
  10. So can we all finally agree that Fletcher should be the starting second basemen? Like I’ve said all offseason he has WON that job last year. He’s hitting .333 and is perfect at leadoff. We should all agree that he’s a starter and a leadoff hitter. Period. Stop saying Calhoun or Cozart is that guy.
  11. You’re right. Bourjos has had 12 and Goodwin has had 16. They both are a smaller sample size but they are fighting for the same position and Goodwin has the upper hand for now.
  12. Made a nice defensive play to make up for his blunder last night. I don’t know how you’d bag on him when he’s hitting better than Bourjos, Bour, Pujols, LaStella and Cozart to say a few. So far so good. Obviously it all changes once Upton comes back. If Bourjos doesn’t figure it out then Goodwin will stay as 4th outfielder.
  13. I’m sure this has been a topic but I’m starting it again. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO RETIRE TIM SALMON’S NUMBER?? A career Angels who led the team is various categories during his time. He still works with the Angels doing pre games on Fox Sports West and NO ONE has worn number 15 since. This is something that needs to be done. Get it done, Angels. It’s been way too long.
  14. I know Eppler is giving us a “chance at WC if it can all click”. But we know what to expect. I’m not writing the Angels off already but lineup changes need to be done. Pujols needs to hit in spots 6-8, Fletcher needs full time job over LaStella and Cozart is a mess. If he continues, Ward needs to come back home permanentally. Same with Bour, if Thaiss has a strong few weeks in AAA and Bour/Pujols continue to flirt with .230 and below then maybe it’s time. Oh wait, service time. Gotta keep him under team control for another year
  15. Disclaimer: I know it’s early. This question is assuming it stays like this. With Bour hitting .091, Cozart hitting .043 and Pujols hitting .227, how long until we see Ward and Thaiss come up? With Ohtani coming back in April, what will happen? Again, it’s way to early to speculate but let’s assume their production stays below the Mendoza Line.
  16. One good thing is he’s making my fantasy team take a massive lead in first.
  17. Only reason was because he doesn’t throw 95+ or have epic spin rate on curve. Miss Shoemaker already.
  18. 1-5 has been embarrassing in terms of production and who's hitting where. Can't wait for Ohtani to come back to slide in the number 3 or 4 slot. Also, why the hell does Cozart keep hitting leadoff. He should be kept 6-9. Calhoun will eventually cool off and he's not a leadoff man. Angels still soul searching for a true leadoff hitter to hit in front of Trout. One good thing is if Bour continues to tank then that could force the issue for Thaiss to come up. I'd experiment with this when we call up players and people are healthy: Fletcher, Simmons, Trout, Ohtani, Upton, Lucroy, Thaiss, Cozart, Calhoun
  19. Star players who have made a name for themselves all do this to eachother. Look at Miggy and Pujols Or Beltre and Pujols. They’re all buddies and they joke around. Pretty sure Pujols doesn’t do that to a rookie who just got called up.
  20. One thing for sure is Buttrey was throwing gas
  21. 2018 OPS Fletcher: .678 LaStella: .672 LaStella is a good bench option don’t get me wrong, but Fletcher, in my opinion, won the spot based on his performance last year. Like a David Eckstien...
