  1. 77 walks and 133 strikeouts last season. He and Trout can compare notes. ;-)
  2. http://m.braves.mlb.com/news/article/67852774/bernie-pleskoff-kyle-kubitza-versatile-corner-prospect-for-braves Defensively, Kubitza's greatest asset is his very strong arm. It's probably the best among the Braves' prospect infielders. Using his quick feet and soft hands, Kubitza has a good feel for his position. He has enough defensive ability to stick at the position.
  3. There honestly isn't a big difference between Anaheim and Los Angeles. I'm serious. Even Angel Stadium and Dodger Stadium — with the noted exception of the bleachers at Dodger Stadium. Although I'm pretty sure the scene around the Budweiser Pavilion at Angel Stadium isn't much tamer. (And for the record, I make it habit to avoid both!)
  4. I guess the real problem is people dont take Anaheim seriously. --------- That's a problem?
  5. For anyone whos fimilar with both, you would know that Anaheim/LA are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT places. They are like different planets when you compare them. --------- They really aren't.
  6. What about Sosa, Fletch? He hit more career HRs than McGwire. Same steroid taint on both of them.
  7. .315 .384 .451 .835 In parts of four AAA seasons. Doubtful, of course, but if he could somehow replicate that in the bigs, there's our No. 2 hitter.
  8. Never deal with a Sicilian when DEPTH is on the line...
  9. Dipoto just talked up Featherston on AM830, though he also indicated they're still working on re-signing Beckham, as well.
  10. Torii Hunter's deal with the Angels is about the best return on investment that I can think of. Weaver's has been pretty solid, too.
  11. Trading CJ would save at most $5-6MM because there's no way any team is going to take his entire salary.
  12. If he does anything this spring, you have to believe they'll give him a shot. Especially if he shows he can play SS at the MLB level.
  13. Here's some video on Featherston: http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20140907&content_id=93502436&fext=.jsp&vkey=news_milb
  14. Some former GM on MLB Network last night was talking up Featherston. Said he had the best chance of any of the Rule 5 guys of sticking. Said he can definitely hit.
  15. Jon Morosi ‏@jonmorosi 1m1 minute ago Wade LeBlanc has signed with the Seibu Lions in Japan for $1 million base salary and $500k in incentives. @CAA_Baseball negotiated the deal.
  16. Rutledge's minor league numbers are also very good. He'll be 26 this season. Lots of guys blossom at 26. We'll see.
  17. Why would the Marlins want to help the Dodgers clear payroll? This trade as reported makes zero sense.
  18. Speculation is the Dodgers gave up two minor league pitchers for Rollins. Rondon and Rondon?
  19. Bill Shaikin ‏@BillShaikin 27s28 seconds ago Dipoto says Roberto Baldoquin, #Angels $8 million Cuban signee, can be everyday MLB SS. He'll start at A or AA in '15.
  20. At the conclusion of this contract, Hunter will have made $171M in his career.
  21. That's dumb. Hunter's production has been among the most consistent the past seven seasons as anybody in baseball.
  22. Same could be said about the White Sox and Abreu, but I'm guessing they're pretty happy to have signed him.
  23. 5(t). Giants: Buster Posey and Madison Bumgarner
