Honestly we're better of without Trout, mega deals have never worked and will never work out for us.  Let Philly learn the hard lesson and pay 800MM between two players.  Plus Harper and Trout on the same team is good for baseball in a sense, I'm tired of Trout, he hasn't done much for us other than play well for himself.

I know right, people who are the best at things are such pieces of shit. Youre probably a great guy

  2. So The Simpsons was renewed for 2 more seasons. Which is great because it's two more years of guaranteed work for me and all of us (in animation, most artist contracts only last about 8-9 months and then you're looking for work again.) And so anyways, I read on a fan forum for the show called No Homers periodically just to see if they ever comment on our animation (and they compliment it sometimes which is nice), and I was just thinking how hilarious it is that these "fans" shit on the quality of the show, week after week, begging for it to be cancelled. And yet they tune in and watch it live every week just so they can shit on it more lol. And when news of the show renewal came out, they are pissed!! Like f**k you guys man haha!

It's just funny because they can literally just not watch and maybe they'd get their wish and the show they hate so much will be cancelled because of low viewership (it's one of the top rated shows still). But then they'd have nothing to bitch about anymore.

But then as I think this, I remember I bitch on sports forums about players and whatnot lmao. So I can't say shit

Dogs had part of that happen to them in 1966.    Rookie Cards' pitcher Larry Jaster never no-hit them, but shut them out all 5 times facing them in 1966.

    45 innings, 24 hits (all singles), 31/8 Ks/BBs, .157 opposing BA, sub .200 OBP, .157 SLG%

Finished 4th in NL ROTY balloting in 1966.

This is a high quality post, holy shit

  4. I believe Trout will stay in large part because Eppler is going to, and probably already somewhat has, made an outstanding impression on why the Angels are the best option. I wouldn’t be surprised if Eppler even shows Trout where his other suitors are at as organizations and projected to be at in the next decade compared to the Angels. He’s extremely thorough and the only way I think he leaves is if he does a Texieiera (pretty sure that’s how you spell it now)

Maybe y'all haven't paid attention to how far off a cliff Longoria has fallen.

Last season Albert Pujols out performed him in OPS+.

    Let that sink in.

Albert should retire, his career has cratered, he is effectively done by most standards.

    Longoria had a worse year.

They got a Vernon Wells on their hands

I think Canning fits in well as a the number 3 starter behind Ohtani, Heaney.

Pending skaggs is traded or we sign another number 1 or 2 starter.

Not going to lie, I’d be moderately disappointed if the guy with the nasty curve and mid 90s fb didn’t end up better than the guy who’s breaking ball doesn’t break haha

I think Trout going to the Yankees is the most likely outcome. I think he is an east coast guy, as well. I dont think he'll want to wait for an opt out when the Yankees will be willing to give him 40 mil/year in 2021.

Hey, it's always been a right of passage in baseball. Good players put on the pinstripes, nearing the end of their career, to have the best chance at making the playoffs and getting a ring. Or adding to their total. Oh yeah, and then there's money.

Catfish, Reggie, Rickie, Baylor, Winfield, A-Rod, Clemens, Giambi, Sabathia, Cone, Boggs. The list goes on and on. Not all signed FA contracts, of course, but most did.

The list of players coming to Anaheim via free agency to pursue a ring seems a bit shorter...........

The Yankees have only missed the playoffs four times since 1995, when Trout was 4 years old. Trout read all about that growing up, no doubt. The Angels have missed the playoffs SEVEN times in Trout's eight years as an Angel.

Plus, the Yankees are going to have holes to fill in the outfield, soon. Gardner and Hicks are free agents after this year. Stanton is best suited as a DH. Judge is too tall and not mobile enough to cover CF. And the Yankees will become desperate as the Red Sox win yet another AL East title this year.

It will be time for him to take his place with Dimagg, The Mick and The Babe, as the greatest outfielders in Yankee history. The greatest of all time, mebbe. The Kid. Jersey Boy on Broadway.

Irrespective of any salary differential that might exist between a contract with the Yankees or the Angels, playing on the east coast in that sports media market.will mean beaucoup endorsement bucks for Trout. Suddenly, everyone in every time zone will be able to follow him "live". He will truly become the face of baseball with his smile, his performance and his exemplary demeanor, on and off the field. I would welcome him as the sports ambassador, wholeheartedly.

It might be by trade (the Yankees still have lots of young players to deal) or it might be by free agency, but I bet Trout ends up being a Yankee by 2021. The siren call is strong from New York.

Based on what we know of Trout, this is the exact opposite of what he wants

  8. I think this a pretty good move. Harvey basically replaces what we would be getting in upside and risk with Richards, but we get to see what we get from him this year (for slightly cheaper) as opposed to 2020 with GRich. And if he does well, he could be nice to bring back as a vet with Ohtani/Skaggs/Heaney/Barria/Canning/Suarez. Could eventually free up some of those guys for trades as well

I havent watched the show in probably the last 15 years or so, but the first several seasons were hilarious, and still hold up.

I downloaded a bunch to my tablet for a trip awhile back and vegged out on my flight. Even knowing them by heart I was still dying.

I kind of lost interest after Conin O'Brien took his talents with him around the mid 1990s.

Stopped watching after season nine. Show was freaking brilliant, witty, clever, and to be honest had a very subtle emotional side to it.

Not that it really impacted the direction the show ended up but I felt after the death of Phil Hartman, it was just never the same.

You guys should give the new season a couple views if you have nothing else on :) obviously not as good as the classic stuff but there’s been some pretty good ones that aired and some ones yet to air that are quite good. I think it’s more visually interesting and better drawn now so if nothing else, that’s cool to see (but there is a charm to the cel look that can’t be replaced)

  10. Man f*ck Zack Cozart

I’m jk haha, he had some good stretches for us last year and I don’t see why he can’t fall between what we got last year and his standout season. That would honestly be huge for us. almost like an extra free agent signing this offseason

man, talking about cozart in the hot stove thread fml
