    The hell he was. He made a decent sliding catch in game one. Then had an abortion of a try on a fly ball that ended up being a run. Then his 'fall on his ass' catch that allowed a baserunner to advance to third.

    In the story, those machines are called Double Up - my wife and I called them double down, and they were super fun machines. You win a hand video poker, and you had the opportunity to double your win. You were dealt a card face up, then had to chose one of four cards that would need to be higher. They went away 10 years or so ago - and this is why. Thanks for the link.

    ESPN built it up at the beginning of the episode, showing dufus chatting loudly while two others were playing a pot. Good lord, that dufus was super annoying. As he was getting mic'd up for the feature table, he probably figured this was his one chance to show he's the next Negraneau. Boy, did he fail. Most annoying ME poker player since that idiot who would go running and screaming up and down the aisles after winning pots (5 or 6 years ago).

    Actually I don't even see the old guys on the mopeds after the game at all. Only before the game. And for the record, I have the crazy view that the owners of a ball team aren't responsible for every savage beating that takes place in a stadium, whether its Arte or that moron McCourt. For Pete's sake, are we going to get to the point where we need one security guard for every patron?

    Also from Peyts' mom: Finally some good news. Peyts just told me that his teacher told him to let me know that today was his best day of second grade yet!!! Thank goodness. Who knows what tomorrow brings, but for now we will be proud in this accomplishment. It's been a rough couple of weeks. And a rough time in second grade for the little guy.
