They tanked.
Just like the Cubs and Astros, Oakland was fine finishing in last place multiple seasons in a row ('15-'17) to build for the future.
The Angels have made it clear they won't do that.
I’m at the game in ABQ tonight. When I bought the tickets weeks ago I was looking forward to seeing five different guys I had never seen before - not one of which are playing tonight.
On the other hand, this is the first baseball game I have attended with my dad in 18 years, which is pretty cool.
Thaiss is 2-2 with a double and a homer.
Cheers, AW.
Several weeks ago I bought tickets to see the Bees tomorrow. I was hoping to see Detmers and Marsh for the first time, but I can't be too upset to see them doing well* for the big club today.
*So far
I haven't watched more than a couple of innings of the Oakland series because I don't enjoy watching the team lately, but I love watching a kid make his debut. Good luck today, Reid. Savor this moment: you have earned it.
The Angels are not going to make the postseason and they have a relief pitcher having a really good season who will be a free agent.
I would like to say that it is mind-blowing that they didn't trade him... but it's really not.
