Dick Enberg

My name is Mark, born in 57, moved to OC in 62. Went to my first game September 5th, 1966. Been a fan ever since. I picked Enberg as my handle, since I grew up listening to him every night on the radio. One of the best memories I'll ever have!

I realized what a great announcer Enberg was, right after he moved on from the Halos in the late 70's and the Halos rolled out Bob Starr...Enough said!

Best memory, 86 play-offs. Game 5. Father was tied into the city of Anaheim and we were guest in the City of Anaheims booth right next to the press box. Heart broken, but still the most emotional game i have ever watched! F*cking DeCinces!

I saw Fregosi play all of his Angels career, and i can say that Simmons is a much better defender. I think Fregosi won his gg's because of how many dp's turned by him and Bobby Knoop. That is not to take anything  away from Jimmy. He was very good. The only ss i have seen that might be better than Simmons, is Ozzie Smith. 

My oh my, 1967 first year I started following Angel baseball. Fregosi and Knoop were big guys. Both over 6ft. Fregosi probably 200 Lbs. But boy could they turn a DP! 

But Simmons is like no one in the era. People would have thought he was some kind of freak'in Alien!

My oh my, Billy E is already showing his brilliance. Only tests that remain are his drafting ability and trades at deadlines when we become competitive again. Free agent signings are Arte's game and going to be difficult to judge Billy E knowing Arte has the final say.
