Haven't found any player so far that had a career batting average over .320 in his first 11 seasons that finished under .300 for his career. Frank Thomas was close though. In his first 11 years, "The Big Hurt" batted .321 but ended his career at a .301 career batting average. So, the great Frank Thomas retired at the right time if his career goals were to hit at least 500 career home runs and a .300 average. Pujols won't be the first, will he? All depends.
