  1. Just so I understand, he tries one squeeze play, Aybar gives a shit effort and Mike has been lousy?
  2. Not to mention the two hits he gave up in the 7th were bloopers. He deserved to go back out for the 7th.
  3. Yes we read that thread in the Hangout Forum.
  4. Get back to .500 by playing winning baseball. Continue to have starters pitch deep into games. It also wouldn't hurt to have the offense show up early and often in games where Blanton pitches.
  5. What kind is deal could Vargas expect? 3 year $27 million? Something along those lines?
  6. I think it's silly to have the position you play to affect your at bats. I could understand if the player was going from 1st to 3rd base, or outfield to 3rd. But left to center, that's just silly. What it basically says is Trout isn't comfortable playing arguably the easiest position (LF) on the field. I'm guessing that isn't the case, I'm guessing he prefers CF because he feels like he's more in control.
  7. That was his second contract. His first was around 6 years $17 million.
  8. Ok, the ground into double plays are being exaggerated. He had one awful year, the rest are about league average.
  9. The reason it works for Trout is its insurance against injury.
  10. If signed now, Trout would get around 8 years and $100 million.
  11. Rally, I'm not sure why you want to argue this but ok. If Albert gets shut down and returns next season without the effects of the plantar then he will put up good numbers again. I know he is older but both Salmon and Garret came back from it and I am sure they were in their 30's when they had it. As far as whether or not the Yankees can handle an albatross of a contract better, of course they can. However Arte even after seeing what we saw from Albert last year, signed a player for $125 million. I'm guessing he wouldn't be doing this if he can't afford it. Guys who are this successful in business don't throw good money after bad, I'm sure there is a plan in place. I read somewhere that all GM's look at their teams in terms of three and five year salary projection rather than year to year. I am worried about the Albert contract but really it is based on his health and not whether or not he can still perform when healthy. When I worry about the Angels I worry much more about the farm system than I do about Albert's contract. No amount of money (outside of international signings) can overcome bad drafts. Oh and there are plenty of great players that are drafted past the first round.
  12. You highly doubt he got more money? We are talking about Arte Moreno, the guy who said he couldn't imagine paying one player more than he paid for his team. Then he Albert and the next day signs a $3 billion TV contract. I think there is more evidence, no proof, that he went to Fox to negotiate the deal with the agreement to sign Albert. By the way, why would Fox give the Angels $3 billion if they didn't expect a huge increase in viewers? The Angels have one of the worst, if not the worst ratings in the league.
  13. I'd say it's too early to call the Fielder signing a success, much in the same way I would consider it too earlt to call the Pujols signing a failure. With these long 9 and 10 year contracts you have to give them a few years before you really know.
  14. That's where I feel like I should play right about now.
  15. It will appear to be crappier because we are on AngelsWin and not YankeesWin. Kinda like asking which team has been a bigger disappointment this year the Angels or Dodgers on an Angels fan website.
  16. "With the first pick in the 2013 AW Summer Co-Ed Softball draft Stradling selects, AngelsMania."
  17. I'm in, if I haven't been banned for being an apologist.
  18. Arod's second contract is much worse. It's for more money, he is missing a ton of games, he has admitted to using PED's. His team doesn't want him back. I'd say its worse.
  19. I'm guessing that Enright will be pitching for our AAA very soon.
