  1. THE Wesley Wright would like to have a word with you
  2. Of all those Double Doubles I've had in my life only 3 or 4 have I had with a beer. The first time I did it I thought it was the greatest thing since drinking a beer in the shower. Since then it lost its magic.
  3. The Teflon Jerry nickname is about the people on here. A first time GM never being in a no lose situation has to do with the reality of being a MLB GM. We don't always deal with reality on our website.
  4. I wonder if he'd be a candidate to be hired by a team as a President of Baseball Operations role? I don't know him well enough to know whether he's qualified or not. I also don't know what teams are looking for that type of guy.
  5. The Lakers lost because Kobe missed his last 8 shots. Before that he was 8-16 which is respectable. In that fourth quarter the team panicked and took so many 3 pointers.
  6. You do realize that stats show you should bat your best hitter second?
  7. These days that is almost a ringing endorsement. This forum and I am guessing most forums everyone either loves or hates things, very few people in the middle.
  8. TV is SO GOOD right now. I can't say it nearly as well as yk said it, but man even shows that aren't at the top of my list are much better than shows in the past. Brandon doesn't like Homeland or grew tired of it, but it is still a very watchable series and I still really like it. Is it as good as the Brody seasons, no, but it is still really good. It isn't as good as Ray Donovan or Fargo, but it is still a solid show.
  9. I really like the Royal Tannebaums (spelling?).
  10. The Deer Hunter? Chuck you suck at life.
  11. Yes and Mike did that against the best pitching in the world.
  12. Did you miss the part where he struck out 25% of the time in the Korean league? What does that translate to here, 30-33% of the time? Remember when Josh struck out a ton for us, that was 28% of the time.
  13. Its not like it was the tail of two different seasons with Arrieta, he was good all year long, very good, he just happened to be bananas the second half with a .75 ERA. He had a WHIP under 1 in the first half and 10 wins, ERA of 2.66. Dude had a great great season. My belief is you only give it to a pitcher if there isn't a hitter deserving, this year that isn't the case.
  14. My argument was everyone thought he was incompetent, he got a job with as you put it a shitty organization. Jerry who everyone praised and thought was the next coming of Billy Beane or Theo Epstein also got a job, with an equally shitty organization. My point is these are all good baseball men but since the hatred for Scioscia is so strong that Jerry was put on a pedestal and anyone associated with Scioscia (Butcher) was considered awful and unhirable.
  15. But they are equally incompetent and historically as irrelevant, and that's with the likes of Griffey, Arod, RJ, Felix, Edgar.
  16. Ok so how is that different than the Mariners?
  17. Well how many first and second place teams are replacing their GM and pitching coaches?
  18. I thought he was nothing special, probably average.
