The greatest game I saw in person was game three against the Yankees 2002, we just kept coming back and won. I was at game 6 and 7 which were incredible but that game against the Yanks was so damn fun.

I am not trolling, it is somewhat of a serious question. Would I expect the Angels to suddenly perform better without Scioscia, no not really. I think they will perform at about the level of thier players like 29 other teams out there. The only team that I really see outperforming thier talent is the Giants under Boche. However as a fan I am ready for some change for the sake of change. As a fan of this website, I would love to see some new "material". I would love to get out from under the Scioscia is fat, Scioscia won't bat Albert anywhere but third, Scioscia is the only manager that bunts. I would love to see another manager to come in here and things are basically the same. I also would like to see Mike go somewhere and have new success.

I don't remember much of the 86 series, and certainly not some of the specifics you guys are talking about. I was a big Angels fan but I was also a teenager that had a lot of other hobbies back then. If you gave me the option back then of watching the game or going out and playing over the line, I would choose play over the line every time. Around 95 when I got season tickets is when I became fanatical about the team. One of the things that really helped me become as passionate about the team, that the younger fans never had to deal with was when Arte made sure every single game was televised. Back in the 80's and 90's you would only get a couple games a week and it wasn't like we had apps on our phones to follow. I remember having the call the OC Register sports hotline to find out who won the game because there were times when the radio signal was so shitty after dark you couldn't really listen to the game, and this is when I lived in Anaheim. Crazy how awesome it is now, but it is probably more awesome to us that had to live with how it was and now get to experience what it is like today.

Day to day I blame the players, but man that roster is expensive and has holes, not unlike the Angels. But how do you spend $300 million and not have a bullpen or a number 3-5 starter.

I actually think what got him the extention was Shields, K-Rod and Percival. Lock down bullpens make managers look great especially when you have the respect of your players.

Yes I agree it was an awful at bat. He had a bad game going 0-5. Despite that 0-5 he hit over .270 in that series. So going into that game he was probably hitting .350-.400 for the series.

They bitch about Scioscia because he "feels" out line ups and match ups, but that's exactly why they think Howie sucks, they feel like he sucks in those situation, despite the fact that stats don't support how they feel.

A few years ago I bought my son a used Jeep Grand Cherokee, it was fine for him, no issues. He was involved in an accident on the 10 freeway one night. The freeway was going down to one lane and traffic was slowing down and merging. Apparently the 22 year old girl driving drunk behind him was paying attention and plowed into his car pushing him into the car in front of him. Sadly a girl in the car that hit him passed away, not the drunk driver, but my son and his three friends walked away unscathed. Not a single scratch while in a car that had to be totaled. For that I will always be thankful I bought him a JGC. This year I bought my 16 year old an older F150, for the same reason. Their safety is worth the occasional trip to the shop.
