This is a much harder decision than it looks. Do you sign him just in case and then use him in a platoon? Do you try to get him to agree to something like 2 years and $11 Million contract, or something along those lines. He doesn't really fit the role of a 4th outfielder because he doesn't play center field. They could always pick up his option then if they are able to sign one of the big time LFers then trade Cron and DH Murphy. The fact that they have to decide on this now, before they know whether or not they can lock down a LFer makes this a very difficult decision.

Well we don't have the pieces so it isn't like it is something that they are deciding not to do. Last years team had the ability to hit and had a good 7-9 inning guys. They just slumped at the end of the season.

Just because they chose to throw a slider doesn't mean he couldn't throw a strike down the middle.

Honestly for me that's the frustrating part of Albert, he seems to have regressed not just physically but in his approach.

I agree yk. This series was lost as much as it was won but it wasn't lost on coaching. I highly doubt Collins coached up the errors that Murphy had. I highly doubt Collins told his team to get a lead off homer then get a total of two more hits over the next 11 or 12 innings. Give credit and blame to the players because ultimately it came down to that as it usually does.

I didn't make a prediction, but I would have been wrong. I would have said Mets in 6 or 7 because of their starting pitching and how good Familia had been doing into the series. I just wanted to see a good series and the Mets defense pretty much ruined that for me.

I said this in the other thread and I know it won't be popular, but blaming Terry Collins for sticking with Harvey ignores the fact that Familia has been ineffective all series. Going into yesterday's game he had a WS record two blown saves, only to cap it off with a third one. I don't think he got hit that hard, but the end result is what matters. If Collins had Wade Miller warmed up he would have gone with him, I would think.

The Terry Collins shouldn't have brought out Harvey excuse ignores how ineffective Familia has been this series. I don't think he really got hit around, but three blown saves is three blown saves, period.

They won because of frenzied hitting, great defense, good starting pitching, lights out bullpen, and aggressive base-running, sounds pretty familiar. It also doesn't hurt that they were bad for a long time and were able to accumulate a lot of talent and I would probably give the most credit to Dayton Moore (I think that is their GM). He has been there for 8-10 years and was able to see his plan through. The last thing that has helped them is revenue sharing which I would only guess would help them out a ton, which allows them to go get guys like Morales this year. The team was awful for 25+ years then finally started drafting well and made some great decisions.

To say he sucked means you never watched him play or you know nothing about the game. I will accept he was overrated but to say he sucks is just not accurate.

I'll wait a few years before I put Yost in the same category as Sosh. Yost and his team have had great back to back seasons after the franchise failed for almost 30 years. I don't blame Yost for how bad they were nor do I give him all the credit for how well they've performed in the post season. By the way I wouldn't give Sosh all the credit or blame either.

Yes and K-Rod was important in just about every win.
