They have less money not less resources. Resources as far as talent comes in spades when you're constantly drafting in the top 5 of the draft. Also you have ZERO idea what Eppler is going to do as it relates to spending money, you are merely going on a hunch. Eppler himself has said they aren't afraid to spend money.

I realize none of us played Major League Baseball but most of us played competitive baseball. How many times rounding first on a hit to the outfield did you rely on the 1b coach to tell you whether or not to go to 2nd? How many times were you running to first looking to see if the 1b coach to see if you should stretch it? I would venture to say never. However how many times are you sprinting around second on your way to third and you instinctively are looking for the 3rd base coach to know where to go or stay, slide or stand.

The first base coach makes far fewer decisions. I know that sounds weird because more players get on first than third but it's true. When a player is rounding first on a hit the ball is in front of them, they know where the ball is. When they are rounding third the ball is behind them, or in the short stops hand if Disar is the one waving you.
