One of them had a temp of like -2, with 'no big deal!!!emoji!!!' 3 hours later: My windshield cracked from the weather, BUT I STILL LOVE IT HERE!!!! Can't wait to see her ramblings 3 months from now.

    Even when using a jigger, the pours can be inconsistent if the bartender is sloppy. I don't mind places using the check ball pour spouts that click off after a shot is poured. Good bar managers train and test their staff to pour singles, doubles, and quarter cups. Jiggers shouldn't be necessary

    Yes. Drywall and paint are done, and I would rather not chop any more holes in the walls.

    Excellent story, and I'm usually the one who scoffs at the notion that you can throw money at the poor and expect them to automatically better themselves. Sounds like the targeted families are more 'less fortunate' than outright poor, and the charity probably stands a better chance of sustainably impacting their lives.

    I'm remodeling and was going to replace the old 70's era round phone jacks to rectangular ones to match the decor. Any reason to even go through with this? I was thinking of shoving the jacks into the wall, plastering over them, and keeping one jack accessible in case of whatever. Phone lines are obsolete, right?

    Dude, when its windy and like 50 degrees, its miserable. A dry climate at 20 degrees is more bearable.

    Does not compute. The is the worst kind of weather in So Cal. Wet, dangerous roads, plus bitter cold when the wind picks up. Going to Disneyland (or anywhere outside really) would be my last choice for entertainment at this point. I understand there would be no crowds, but it would also be pretty miserable.

    Had my first follow-up. 20/20 in my right eye, and a little better than that in my left. Doc says my vision is 90% of whatever the final result will be. For those of you that have had it, did your vision improve in the days/weeks following the procedure?

    Whole different ballgame. It's not just being able to read. Things look sharp. There's no awful starbust effect around lights. Much clearer than with glasses or contacts
