  1. I don't see why you don't activate Adell at this point. What's the difference between riding the pine in Anaheim and riding the pine on the taxi squad / secondary whatever they're doing since there is no MiLB this year?
  2. Ohtani took a real pitcher's swing on that last one
  3. if you have ESPN2, the Angel game is there, @Duren, Duren
  4. The Angels have decided that, no matter what the calendar says, it's April, and therefore they must stink.
  5. You're not going to win many games when two-thirds of your lineup can't get a single hit.
  6. Yeah I don't think I like that much. For some reason people are paying good money to put cardboard cutouts of themselves in the stands. I know I'd be annoyed if I plunked down some coin to put myself there, and someone dressed me in Tigers or Team-from-Cleveland gear.
  7. And this is why you don't let him be in the batting lineup on sundays, at least until we know he has his pitching stuff back. That said, its not like we have a ton of other pitchers, it still behooves us to give him more chances at this.
  8. If he has a bad day on the mound, then you have a series of pinch hitters (or worse, other pitchers) batting right behind Trout the rest of the day. It's a significant risk. Unless you're going to put Ohtani in the 7-9 hole somewhere? In which case he isn't protecting Trout in the lineup at all.
  9. You need to learn to turn the page. Sometimes you turn it in the third inning.
  10. Whelp! Season over! Maybe we can try using our OTHER DH as a pitcher?
  11. I was actually using D&D gamer logic. The old superstition of rolling your d20s till you roll all the 1s (epic fails) out of them. 'cause the odds of rolling 1 on a d20 twice in a row are 1 in 400! Alas, statistics dont work like that, but emotion sometimes does!
  12. Nah, Norris still has value. Closers occasionally blow a game - Norris comes pre-blown! What are the odds that he does it again down the stretch? (if he's traded, 0.0. if he's not, 1.0)
  13. Weird Baseball. Who's got their ice cream?
  14. Nice arm on Graterol, it would seem. But if we have to use him to pitch, we don't have anyone to catch... better find a Plan R.
  15. Gotta love the six man rotation in April.
  16. For the love of all that is good, nobody remind the Angels that this is April.
  17. How would you even eliminate the intentional pass to save time anyway? The "unintentional intentional walk" seems to take longer anyway, when that's tried. If the goal is to defeat the strategy of avoiding a team's best hitter when there's a scrub hitting behind him, then pull out a tee, and let Trout hit off that until Pujols' contract expires, hey?
  18. Not just back to back ALCS. Back to back ALCS with the Kansas City Royals. The last time they were relevant was when Brett was playing. And the last time before that, they didn't exist. Basically, take how Sosh has milked 2002 for over a decade. Yost has Sosh rights if they get their rings this year, and even if they don't he gets to try again.
  19. Andrus may never recover from that inning. Three miscues (only two were officially errors, but all three have to feel like them for him) on three straight plays, And then in his last at bat in the year after all that, he strikes out swinging. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy they lost. But honestly, Andrus' inning makes me think of Donnie Moore. Not because the mistake was comparable - one bad pitch, objectively, happens much more often compared to three straight fielding mistakes - but because the mental consequences could be straight out horrible. I really hope someone has thought ahead to get him a headshrinker or something to help put stuff in perspective and get him through this.
