I don't mind that. The lineup is circular - Goodwin, then Fletcher, then Trout. Ideally that puts a couple people potentially on base for the heart of our order. It's just that the heart starts at the #2 instead of the #3 spot.

Thus far his attempts at being a pitcher have not stopped him from putting up good numbers as a hitter. If this team ever makes a playoff series again, well, postseason baseball relies even more heavily on good starting pitching than the regular season does - this team has no aces as it currently stands, and doesn't project to have any in 2021 unless Ohtani makes a comeback. Low downside, high upside potential, so I'm totally fine with him trying to pitch again next year.

I think the league is committed to those things, but there are more than a few players who are just being knuckleheaded about it, and they're the ones that are going to ruin it for all their teammates. Nothing really against them; they're all relatively young, quite strong and generally healthy men - that's the demographic where "I'm immortal" is found.

I don't mind Ward as roster depth, nice to carry a third catcher, and 30 man roster gives you that flexability, also nice to have someone who can play multiple positions... but trading Trout's bat for Ward's is a pretty big stepdown. I'd much rather see Adell making his MLB debut tonight. There's no MiLB for him to play, and I believe we're past the date at which service year accrues, so there's fairly little downside now. Is nice to see Rengifo in there, tho.

While true, there was discussion earlier to the effect of, we wouldn't activate Adell until he was going to be playing everyday. If AAA existed this year I'd agree, develop him. But since it doesn't... let's face it the only answer we have to our terrible pitching is to try and outslug em on the other side.
