  1. Baseball Savant would indicate our bullpen is pure trash. Jimmy Herget is only one that had above average peripherals. This will be our downfall this year.
  2. With Verlander and Degrom signing, that leaves Rodon and Senga. Apparently it’s down to the Angels, Blue Jays, and Red Sox…
  3. Maybe if we all boycott going to games long enough he’ll eventually cave in and sell
  4. Everyone talking about the salary dump, which is nice, but failing to see we just picked up some solid pitching depth. Top 5 prospect in our organization
  5. Mets fans send their thanks to the dumbest owner in baseball. I don’t know how he couldn’t see that Billy Eppler (who inherited a really shit situation) had really started to turn this organization around. He brought up the farm system 10 spots from dead last. 2 huge free agent signings (Trout and Ohtani). Almost snagged Andy Pages from the dodgers before that trade was blown up. I miss Eppler. Happy to see he’s doing well for the Mets, but sad to think he could have been here building this team up
  6. Definitely worth a shot. Maybe he’ll suddenly start finding the zone. Not likely, but this team is in desperation mode.
  7. And one of the worst farm systems in MLB (again) after Eppler started to really turn it around
  8. It’s not just this team and free agency. Not many free agents work out. I’ve said this on another thread, but good teams are built from the ground up. Good drafts, good development, depth upon depth in your farm system. It’s leads to a sustainable, consistent team. Free Agency is for desperation! - A-Rod, Rendon, Pujols, Strasburg, Cano, Bauer, Price, Stanton, Lindor, Tatis (so far), Arenado, Betts (to a certain degree), the list goes on…
  9. FA signings are a roll of the dice that even good GM’s mess up. I think it’s all about scouting, drafting, and developing talent. The Angels will never be contenders unless they have good minor league depth.
  10. Some bad pitch framing. 9th inning curveball comes to mind. Should have been a punch out
  11. Translation: we have no prospect currency to make deals at the deadline if needed. the best organizations in baseball have great farm systems.
  12. Have faith, he's still so young. I always favor pitchers with solid Swinging Strike %. No guarantee obviously, but he has a higher ceiling compared to Barria. I'm more surprised people on the board feel like Detmers is gonna have a breakout year next year. His best pitch is a slow loopy curve ball... Looks good, but Rotographs shows that slow loopy curves get crushed in the majors.
  13. How about the fact that he's 25 years old... Not many pitchers are lighting up the majors in their early 20's...
  14. I need perry to make a move one way or the other. The suspense is killing me. I will be so let down if nothing happens. If we can get prospects to fill out our organizational top-30 from Raisel, Heaney, or Cobb, pull the trigger!
  15. I’m getting worried… we’re hours away and nobody is being dealt. We have to get 2-3 prospects that will slot into our top 30 from Cobb, Heaney, Rasiel Iglesious
  16. Wow… such hypocrisy. Unbelievable how this guy gets away with this kind of crap
  17. Any reason why we got Jon Jay in over Lagares or Taylor Ward?
