What percentage of free agent signings work out for the Angels? I can’t think of many. [Good]: Raised Iglesias, Torii Hunter, Vladdy, Joe Smith For some reason I can remember the bad ones though: [Bad]: Gary Matthews, Josh Hamilton, Pujols, Cozart, Justin Upton, CJ Wilson, Rendon, Stephenson, Ryan Tepera, Loupe, Syndergaard, Matt Harvey, Luis Valbuena, Joe Blanton, Shaun Burnett, Tyler Anderson (TBD) 15/19 contracts ended up being bad contracts. Maybe it’s time we focus on building the farm system

Gubi also took a look at the statistics and said, “the Red Sox crush fastballs…” -

Was Gubi on the AW board? Literally talking about this during the 1st inning -
Jared Walsh 3-5 with a bomb and a double

J Walsh still getting hits for the Rangers. 5 more hits in the last 4 games. .348 with a .940 OPS Definitely would have added some depth -

Works with driveline, kind of a pitching guru, and a pioneer in terms of pitch shape, stuff+, pitch+, location+ metrics. -

Could be if he has a big bounce back season. -
Of course Jared Walsh goes to the Rangers and shows signs of a turn around… feels like the Angel organization has a culture issue. What happened with J Walsh? Dude was an all-star

Just listened to the first 30 min of this interview… It kind of felt like I was listening to Billy Madison explain the industrial revolutions effect on the modern novel.

It’s time we consider signing Trevor Bauer

Bring Shota, his teammate on the Baystars, and Bauer to Anaheim. They get along well, and would be our two best pitchers. Bauer, Shota, Canning, Detmers, Sandoval, Silseth, Anderson… that might work. -

Nothing more real than Tom Selleck’s mustache. The stache is based on a true story -
Watching Bauer’s Youtube channel has really changed my perception of who he is. Seeing how hard he works, and his commitment to his routine could possibly have a positive effect on the younger pitchers in the organization. Playing in Japan can really change a player, just watch Mr. Baseball…

No doubt at this point, we have to trade him. I get that there will be lost revenue by trading him, but it’s what’s best for the team. Ohtani isn’t signing here, and the prospect haul would be much much greater than just a compensation pick for losing him to free agency. He could really tip the scales in helping a contender win this year. I’d favor a trade with the Rangers, Houston, or Seattle. Deplete their prospects!

Kids are taught max effort for as long as possible. Naturally injuries will start to pile up. Look around the league, it’s not just the Angels.

When does a team become a very good team?
Hufflepuff replied to REDneck's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Need to have a deep farm system. Every team that has risen up from the bottom has built their organization around a great farm system. We’ve tried to “retool” to no success. Trade Ohtani, Estévez, Sandoval, and whoever doesn’t fit a 5-year plan that can return value
