He hit lefties fine last year, especially towards the end of the year when they stopped being dumb fu*ks about it. He also hit lefties fine in Japan. This idea that maybe they’ll platoon him is completely insane. (They’ve repeatedly said that they won’t)

I would love to be able to get an infielder or a catcher in the first round but I think the reality is that they just have to take who they deem to be the best player available. I asked Taylor Blake Ward about it in his Q&A last night and his thought was that you don’t start drafting based on organizational needs until after the 3rd round.

They’ve said that they are not platooning him. Which is right. I will be extremely disappointed if they platoon a player like Ohtani.

I suspect that in almost all cases. When you are questioning whether you should see a doctor or “man up” the correct course of action is checking in with your doctor. Don’t be an idiot.

Obviously a star MOTO bat is a big deal, but how substantial of an impact can he make ? It seems to me that if Canning can stick and Ohtani can be great that it may be enough to get this thing turned around. Here’s to hoping !

I don’t think it’s a lack of passion. I just think from a qualitative perspective they aren’t George RR Martin (very few are). It’s a big complicated story with lots of characters and it’s a tough thing to wrap up. I think people are kind of getting carried away with some of the criticisms. I agree that there are some legitimate weaknesses in the story telling the last couple of seasons. But there’s also a lot of nit picking. Not saying that about you or anyone else here specifically. But generally from the complaints that I’ve read. For me, last night was a good episode. I had two major issues with it. But I also thought it had a few of the better scenes we’ve seen this season.

They probably should have done this over 10 episodes. Including the long ones.

There’s just a ton of story content to wrap up. No matter what some people weren’t going to be happy. Just accept it and enjoy the spectacle.

I’ve seen plenty of complaining about the last nights episode. I haven’t seen anyone making a serious critique of the episode based on what happened with that particular character.

Ya i think I liked it more also. Definitely more legit tension/drama that gOt has been great at delivering then we’ve had in a while.

Aircraft carriers in that area aren’t unusual. His dumbass statement is. Who knows.

I think that in the end, the Angels were just in extremely bad shape when Eppler took over. He’s done good things. He’s also had misses. Like all GM’s. I honestly think he’d have had to hit on every move he’s made to get the team into serious contention. They’ll be alright this year. And probably a little better next year. But we’re probably further away from legit being good then we all want to accept right now. That time frame can move up with some luck, especially the prospect area. But I think most of us know better then to bet on good luck. Hopefully Ohtani comes back and rips up the league. That’ll help a lot. Anyway, it was always going to be a long road back for the team regardless of the GM. I still have faith that Eppler is a guy that can engineer a champion. We’re just going to have to wait.
