Literally in the post above this one you said that the Cubans were “holding the country” for Maduro. I’m not sure how else to interpret that. The United States doesn’t need to be “isolationist” to stay fu*ck out of other countries internal affairs. Venezuela didn’t ask for our aid. At least no one who had any right to ask for the United States to intervene in that country. This isn’t about some noble fight against dictators. The US is great friends with plenty of dictators. In Latin America the US was a great ally of Manuel Noriega, until he wasn’t useful anymore. The same for Saddam Hussein who with the support of the United States fought a devastating war with Iran. This goes on and on. Why aren’t we imposing crippling sanctions on the Saudis ? They’re pretty solid abusers of human rights. This nonsense about “helping” is pure bullshit. It’s utterly contradictory if you examine the idea at all. My position is simply this. The United States should not be working to sow chaos in Venezuela and the United States should not be in the business of hand picking pretenders as leaders of that country. Nicolas Maduro should go. But the this Guaido guy shouldn’t be the one to take over. His legitimacy is utterly compromised.

Oh ya ? Want to share all the images you’ve seen of the mass exodus of soldiers going over to Guaido. And it’s not “my view” of the past. The United States has its history but in Latin America. And it’s a blood soaked, well documented, and terrible one. You know all the immigrants you’re so terrified of ? What do you think is the fundamental origin of all that ? Here’s a hint. The US played a big role in it. I can’t wait to hear you cry about the Venezuelan “invasion” when a sea of refugees flees the country should that country deteriorate much further. Wait until there’s actually armed conflict. This administrations designs on Venezuela are not benign or humanitarian. They are absolutely working to make the situation there considerably worse. The United States should stay out of it. And if there was any interest in actually softening day to day lives of Venezuelans they’d lift the sanctions.

Given the United States glorious history in Latin America. Have some of you considered that maybe what we’re hearing from clowns like John Bolton and Mike Pompeo is purely deceitful.
