  1. There are a few interesting options for the 2B/3B positions in free agency after this season. All these guys are old but if you could get them for 1-2 year deals it might be worth it. Juan Uribe Ben Zobrist Adrian Beltre Chase Utley Utley and Beltre have vesting options but either one would look good in our infield for a year. Zobrist would be more of a long term commitment
  2. Calhoun, Trout, Weaver, Aybar all should be up. Street, richards, Pujols next in line for me
  3. Of course they have decidedly better options than a guy who can't hit his weight in double A. Come on man, even the worst players in the MLB tore up the minors
  4. My guess is Cowart will be put in the rookie teams bullpen by midseason if he doesn't show signs of life at AA.
  5. I disagree. He would maybe get 2 years 15 million total as a reclamation project from some team. No one would give that guy 15 mil a season. That's insanity. Ervin Santana has had two consecutive solid seasons believe it or not
  6. I would not trade away Heaney. Top 30 prospect with 6 years of club control is something you hang onto. As Stradling said, trading for Zobrist would be a better option. The Rays are not competing this year
  7. What was Wilson's ERA in the second half last season? Read my post again before you post your usual nonsense
  8. So do you just never give a prospect a chance in your opionion? Theyre going to give Ruteledge and Green every chance to perform adequetely. if they don't they will trade for someone who can at the trading deadline. I'm not worried about this at all. It's december
  9. uhh yeah it is arguable. For all you know Heaney pitches like a solid 3 and Green hits .280 next year with adequate defense. Plus, this trade frees up cash toimprove at the trade deadline
  10. Rollins SS Kendrick 2B Puig RF Gonzalez 1B Uribe 3B Pederson CF Grandal C Crawford LF You're right. Lot of question marks there, and a sever lack of power. Uribe will regress, no clue what to expect out of Grandal and Pederson really. Crawford and Rollins are well past their prime. Other than Gonzalez, Kendrick, and Puig I'm not seeing a lot of certainties there. 90-93 win ballclub as currently constructed IMO. As you mentioned, that bullpen is bad
  11. If we have Wilson and Santiago starting the season in the rotation we are in trouble. One of them needs to be traded or demoted to the bullpen
  12. He hasn't been traded. Youve probably been reading peoples future rotations A lot of people are stoked about a possible rotation of Richards, Heaney, Shoemaker, Skaggs, Newcombe in 2017...and rightfully so. Dipoto has done a fantastic job with the pitching the last 2 years. Also depth pitchers like Tropeano, Deloach, and Rucinski are options. Angels have all of a sudden turned SP depth into a strength
  13. Call me crazy, but I'm going with the Iannetta/Chatwood deal
  14. Holy shit. What an unbelievable trade by Dipoto. And plenty of money to spend on upgrades still
  15. huh? I said it'd be nice to have a backup that could hit .240...that's not an all star LOL Perez' AAA numbers are very pedestrian....don't know about his defense...concerning IMO
  16. IMO CJ Wilson is done. Wilson doesn't have anywhere near the track record Lester has. Lester has had 6 really good MLB seasons. CJ has had 2, maybe 3 CJ picked a good 2 years to have his career years and then cashed in. Arte/Dipoto got suckered into it...it happens
  17. Yes. I would be very surprised if he performed to that level. Go look at his last season month by month. He's done
  18. The distaste for Santiago stems from the fact that CJ Wilson is on the team. They're two similar to have both in the rotation. One of them has got to go. I'd prefer it be CJ because he's worse and older but I have my doubts about moving his contract.
  19. But is that a good thing? We have to "hope" one of these catchers can hit .223/.293/.325/.618? That's horrible production. I wish we just had a backup that could hit .240 and get on base 31% or something...at least be serviceable. I hope Perez can do that but he's very unproven and Iannetta is not great defensively. Right now I don't see how people feel good about our catching situation
  20. He is so so so so bad. If you can eat half the contract and get someone to take him, you do it no questions asked. That would free up ~10 million that they could use to pay either Lester, Liriano, etc. The Angels already have another Wilson in Hector Santiago. Having both of them on the roster is not necessary at all. They're better off giving Tropeano or Deloach a chance then having Hector and CJ both in the rotation
  21. He'll be a Dodger in a week and a half. The Angels signing a big name pitcher until Wilson is off the books is a pipe dream IMO. Wilson, Hamilton, and Pujols are the guys preventing this team from signing people Oh well, get Liriano I guess
  22. I don't feel optimistic. I think the over/under on his OPS watch should be something like .775...which is really sad and pathetic considering we're entering year 4 of a 10 year deal to a first baseman
