  1. he pitched in a B game friday? anybody know how he did? we have been hearing about all starts in those games and i didn't about this one...hope it was encouraging like the rest of his work so far...very excited for him to have come from nowhere breakout year
  2. not good. saw the end of baseball tonight where one third of the tj surgeries had to be redone....and long ago it used to be like 3% might be a few pieces of info missing, but that was the jist of what i heard. not sure of the time frame...4 years?
  3. i think if he breaks out with the club for season start he will be do very well in the first month...think he knows this could be one of last times for major starting role on any club. i like him....good energy, speed. i am not sure that was a running gaff...i though he was trying to steal third there? looked like it. i like his speed batting ninth.
  4. i like listening to the gm's and at this time...kinda like listening to dipoto....both good looking young dudes doing what we all wish we could do. I like the pitch box on the screen....that way i can count the make up pitches easier. nobody likes the angels that is for sure...hopefully we can sneak up on people this year. that is a beautiful spring training park....blows ours away.
  5. i think we will have be happy with his performance this year...seems to have taken a next step up this camp he will can build on!!
  6. that is fine...if the team is contending they will be paid and probably stay. if cubs end up pooping the bed with the talent...they probably leave when time comes...but get an extra year to see if works out.
  7. wilson is in the rotation with the contract he has. rucinski has blown away so far the two young guys in the competition...not even in the same ballpark this spring. i mean there is confidence when he is on the mound. i am truly excited that dipoto has the ability to find these guys...i think we are in great hands hopefully for next 15 years with him kicking ass in front office.
  8. i laugh at all the cubs fans that are up in arms over this....they have no idea what is going on...stupidity is coming to mind. its two frigging week??
  9. man i root for him...every once in a while he can go thru a stretch and give you 4 solid innings where he looks masterful....he is probably the most susceptible pitcher we have to the ump squeeze. he was not getting the same calls bum got that is for sure. i think no matter what cj does...he will average the year close to a 4.5 era....and that is not the end of the world at this point....money is spent and now need innings...maybe he can surprise us and really grind it close to 4 and 15 wins.
  10. besides our hitting this spring(not against bum)....Rucinski is definitely a diamond in the rough type situation and seemingly the most exciting thing we got going in the spring. Shoe mapping out a dream scenario last year gives this thing even more legs. i think rucinski has better stuff...most batters seem to have a tough time squaring up pitches when they do get the bat on the ball...there were a few of course, but i think that will lead to a great whip in the 1 range. that fielding play to third probably had scoc wetting his pants. I liked how he had him finish the game and feel some pressure to close it out. cron came thru again...the running play by featherston to make it home was great...but it seemed that the ball was not 100 percent out of reach for a catch...he was rounding 2nd when the ball hit the ground. I like him....good looking kid.
  11. always great hearing him speak about baseball and the angels....very tough getting thru the video with the sound of dishes banging around so close to the mic. but good nevertheless. i can see why all the man crushes....the dude is young good looking and doing what we all wish we could do that well and get paid to do it....like my bro( a budding 3comma dude) always says when he see me...just living the dream
  12. that was if richards misses a few starts....i don't think they have beaten out santiago for the first month regardless.
  13. i have watched all the heaney starts...he needs some time getting lit at trip A...also maybe scoot his push off foot one half inch to the right to get some of those calls on good pitches.
  14. if its one or two starts richards misses....rasmus can take them again...these two guys are not ready in the slightest which is not that critical.
  15. albert and trout seem locked in like the last half of last year. cron looks very serious this year and should be a break out year for him - 20hrs.
  16. heaney looks like CJ out there when he gets squeezed by the umps...there is no way he gets on opening day roster and if it keeps him under cost control an extra year while he gets better i am all for it. He was not missing any bats after the squeezing started....good experience for him.
  17. yep he was sick and lost a bunch of weight. I would do the same thing with heaney if there is the same scenario at play. I am not sure he is ready yet anyway...will have to see the next few games for him. its smart and helps the budget. bryant could be a different issue as he is really killing it.
  18. I think angels panicked after Beltre and made bad decision with Toronto trade to make some sort of splash or counter move....unfortunately Beltre was what was needed. Pinch pennies lose dollars....or hundreds of millions
  19. To me the domino to start it all off was letting Texas get beltre...angels thought they were only team in market for him and would not increase offer....Texas swoops in even though they had young already. We get him....we don't make first disaster in toronto with wells....I mean to only get back like 10million on that contract? Dumbest gm move ever. I was always hopeful with wells...but never happened. Grienke trade? Was fine. Segura was blocked...just hurts to see so many that were in the angel system kickass else where....dodgers getting that TV deal kinda blew some things out with the six or seven billion it is? He might have taken a 100million....he turned that down with brewers, but possible with angels....I think big problem is how you pay him so much when Weaver signed a team friendly deal So with Beltre.....no money wasted on wells, probably no need for puljols signing
  20. Funny I was always wondering why there were no posts on the espn boards? Angel fans are over here....frig seems like I was wasting my time checking that board for past 4 or 5 years....one stupid post a week or month. I railed on the espn angel blog.....zero updates for over a month during winter meetings?? Glad you are here....oh don't get me started on this frigging team:). Jk.i see some life and might make 500 by break....hopefully 6 or 7 out.
