Suddenly then Trout stays healthy & hits 74 HRs next year, Simmons hits 35 HRs, Ohtani hits 50 HRs.
And they're all jumpy as shit.

Again, besides his manager decisions which you and I disagree on (I think he's awful across the board), if he's truly a shit inside the clubhouse or toward upper management, why wouldn't he be fired?
Based on the roster he was given, I agree that he shouldn't take the blame and get the boot, but I don't think that's why he was fired.
Maybe we'll never know. Maybe we will later like we did with Dipoto vs. Sosh/Arte.
Could be that he lost the clubhouse at a certain point. It happened when Terry Collins was the manager.

I think personally I compared him too much to Scioscia, which would be unfair in itself because Mike was a decent manager from the start.
He did seem to be outmanaged by the opponents at times.
I also question his use of Suarez, Barria, and Sandoval. I just hope they're not ruined for the future.

Wait...
We can't keep Cowart?
-
I've always been a Joe Maddon fan. I thought the should have hired him instead of Scioscia.
But that's the past. We have a manager. There is a lot that I don't like about Ausmus, but this season would have sucked no matter who the manager was.

With Shohei on the shelf, you have to find something for your channel.

Its basically a week until September and the Angels can call up whatever warm bodies to get through the season. I see alot of bullpen games. Hopefully some cream will rise from the sh!t.

Anybody want to keep Suarez in longer right now?
Suarez should be in AAA. Angels need to have a bullpen game or ask if someone from the stands wants to pitch.
I'm worried about his mental health at this point.

The fireworks will be to cover up the sound of all the baseballs hitting opponents' bats and flying out of the stadium.
And don't forget the marine layer that only affects Angels outfielders.

@totdprods - So there is a given that players have to adjust, especially to the shift. But pitchers are being chewed up at an alarming rate. Could it be that today's pitchers are trying to pitch to the defensive shift to their own detriment? Starters are lasting, in starts AND innings pitched around the league.
I looked up and found that 93 MLB starters had 20 or more games started. I believe this should be about 130 or more.

@floplagI hear you, although to be fair to Kole, while his BA is down from 2013-16, his power is way up. Some part of how he "overcame" it seems to be an increase in power. He's on pace to post career bests in HR and SLG and could have his best year since 2016.
As for Ramirez, what is so striking is how extreme this collapse is - and at such a young age. This isn't Pujols, Miggy, or Votto. This is a player who was 3rd best in the majors in 2017-18 at age 24-25, and a total disaster at age 26. It sounds like a rather extreme case of the "shift yips."
Reminds me when the outfield moved in on Reggie Willits. Since he didn't have any kind of power to make the outfielders honest.
I think that is why Trout is in a class by himself - if the opposition figures out somehow to get him out, he works on that aspect of his game.

Glad to see you guys are more positive than I expected.

that's the opposite of what they need to do.
whether you like it or not, these kids need time to develop and get better. They need to keep financial flexibility.
Or they could trade a couple of them for an established starter. Which could accelerate the timeline for winning. I hope they keep Canning of the four and I am sure they will.
Racist.
Actually I would like to keep all 4. Would really help with flexibility.

The Rays, I could understand. The A's, maybe. This one makes no sense to me.
I always thought the A's might come here, especially when they were so impressed with the city several years ago when they opened the season here.
If a team comes here I would hope it would be a NL team, obviously.
Obviously, the Henderson Angels has a nice ring to it.

Hey he played for Gigantes. Gigantes what, I don't know.

This has been true over the years of any organization. Fire the manager after a poor season. It doesn't make sense, but then again it does because something changed.
I really doubt that Ausmus gets another managing gig. Of course I thought that about Collins and the Mets hired him.
